  1. The Colosseum is such a dump
  2. Vogelbach is probably insurance in case Horwitz struggles in the majors.
  3. I like Clement but this is not the hill to die on. Biggio has always been and may always be clearly better than Clement.
  4. Vlad was the worst 3B in baseball by a wide margin when he played there regularly. It's fine if it's not a permanent move but don't expect his defense to magically be better at an older age and no MLB reps.
  5. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/40242240/blue-jays-alek-manoah-departs-right-elbow-discomfort
  6. Manoah was hurt in Detroit, a full turn in the rotation prior to his injury. An MRI can be scheduled within one day. I'm curious why they waited until after the fact to get an MRI.
  7. I don't know about you guys but I watch baseball to take a break from hearing about people's race every 13 seconds. Let's argue about Israel and Palestine while we're at it
  8. The product on the field has a 0.7% probability of winning the division in May while the fans argue about stadium renovations and merchandise. Shapiro is a genius, definitely the next MLB commissioner.
  9. John Schneider needs to buy steak dinners for White Sox hitters for saving the bullpen
  10. Kirk is a glove first catcher. Jansen is a bat first catcher. Our current DHs are Turner and Vogelbach. Even if Jansen cools off he's still better than what we're starting at DH while our offence scores 3 runs a game. Is it really that hard to figure out how to get Jansen's bat into the lineup 6 days a week? Update the damn computers, I could get an intern to figure this out in 20 minutes.
  11. This is the right move
  12. Bring in Vogelbach first to put the pressure back on Hinch. Who knows what the computer will say though
  13. AA is the guy who got dumped because at the time the GF thought she could do better. AA deleted social media, started lifting, and moved to a new city and now he's nailing models on a regular basis. Meanwhile the GF is middle aged and blown out and tells all her blind dates in her hometown Applebees what an ******* her ex was even though it's been more 9 years. AA is reminded of her once every few years, but she still talks about him all the time.
  14. Kopech's stuff is straighter than an arrow
  15. He traded away some good prospects 12 years ago so he's literally the devil
  16. Pearson with consistent mechanics overmatches MLB hitters
  17. Diaz made the correct decision with Vogelbach running, it just went to s***.
  18. Making the 3rd wildcard and getting bounced in the first round probably provides more value to the franchise than whatever assets Atkins can get for Kikuchi
  19. Given the braintrust we have right now the safest directive would be to be a low-risk buyer at the deadline. It's the only thing Atkins does reasonably well. There's no benefit to jumpstarting the rebuild a year early and further alienating our revenue base for Billy McKinney and Anthony Kay.
  20. I know you're joking but you don't want a lazy headcase anywhere near a core of young players during a hard reset. He would be the first to go.
  21. Hit tool is the single best predictor of reaching the major leagues lol
  22. Every single bit of this paragraph is incorrect, I remember 2015 like the back of my hand. The Blue Jays were the best team in baseball by a wide margin. Jose Reyes was making so many errors that there were honestly active discussions of giving Ryan Goins the starting SS slot. We brought in the best SS glove in baseball. Colabello was chosen from a position of depth. Him and Danny Valencia were basically playing the same role and people here were furious because Valencia had more control and could play 3B. Apparently Gibbons didn't like Valencia's presence in the clubhouse and Anthopoulos sided with the manager. And a roided up Colabello ended up outhitting him anyways. We replaced our shittiest relievers like Steve Delabar and Bo Schultz with two legitimate backend guys. We also acquired a true number 1 starter, all in the same trade deadline. Anthopoulos patched literally every single hole on that team and was named MLB executive of the year so I don't know what you're talking about. You can bring up all the elite prospects he traded away while ignoring the trades where he absolutely bent the other team over. You can bring up the elite prospects he drafted that went bust. But you can't call that 2015 team anything other than elite. And it was built on the tornado of moves that Anthopoulos made before and during the season.
  23. If you have 10 years of data you don't parse individual moves. You incorporate at MLB performance, farm system talent, and payroll and make a clear-eyed evaluation of current leadership.
  24. This is not at all something I would staple to my CV
