  1. The actual doctors' diagnosis override whatever we're discussing here, but the signs aren't good as you say. The fact that Vlad asked for the golf cart immediately suggests to me that either him or Ponce heard a pop. If he has a full rupture there's a good chance they already know from the physical exam and MRI. Getting multiple opinions may be to discuss the best approach to repair surgically. From the team perspective it's best to assume he's smoked for the year, with a best case scenario of bringing him out of the pen for a playoff run.
  2. Rockies bats will be sluggish tomorrow from the Dickey effect. Schneider playing 4D chess
  3. Just 11 more HRs and we're right back in this
  4. We're dissecting Schneider's in-game moves as if our entire bullpen isn't a bunch of 1 inning matchup guys. We start the season with injuries to 3 key starters and don't bother to carry a single length reliever. This game was lost before it began. We deserve to get absolutely annihilated today so that Schneider and Atkins can sit in it and reflect on how to construct a regular season pitching staff.
  5. Odd man out is very likely to be Lukes. You want a your backup infielder to handle shortstop like Jiminez and be a defensive replacement option especially if Okamoto turns out to be a poor defender. We need Schneider to prevent our platoon bats from getting exposed against LHP. And Straw is literally one of the best baserunners and defenders in baseball. It's a tough pill for Lukes who had a better year than Sanchez but has options
  6. Not a bad trade from a baseball perspective. The most valuable thing we lost was flexibility from Loperfido's option as this creates an immediate roster crunch. This makes it likely that one of Lukes/Schneider are not on the opening day roster, or we part ways with one of Straw/Jimenez.
  7. It's not even really advanced stats. Yariel is basically Berrios but only for 1 inning at a time.
  8. Yesavage has had extreme groundball tendencies so far in his career. I say go all in on defence, IKF, Straw, Lukes. Let Schneider and Barger feast on the Dodgers pen.
  9. Not with 2 outs here. But you can see he can barely walk out there
  10. Leaving IKF to squeeze against a lefty was the right move, it just took a turn
  11. Jays need to throwing over whenever Ohtani is on. Do whatever you can to wear him down.
  12. You have to run there. They're walking Vlad and pitching to IKF otherwise
  13. This game is absolutely insane. Up there with the 14-13 game in the 93 Series
  14. The earlier moves all had some sort of possible explanation. Pulling Bassitt in a tie game is really starting to get weird
  15. Enjoy this moment. People will be talking about this game years later
  16. That might be the craziest splitter I've ever seen, including Yesavage
  17. Barger's spot is far away and Straw is elite in the field. This is smart
