  1. Clase is very raw but he's been taking some great swings for a couple weeks now
  2. When Hoffman isn't getting destroyed he is downright diabolical.
  3. Bo almost corkscrewed into the ground turning on that pitch
  4. Don't love that sac bunt in that situation
  5. Batting order has a very small impact on runs scored. Having a roster that can't hit is what we should be concerned about.
  6. Vlad destroyed that but that's way too low to be pimping out of the box
  7. Grumpy Buck is peak entertainment
  8. Scherzer is one of the most competitive psychopaths in baseball
  9. Scherzer is injured, old, and has exclusively been a starter for the better part of 2 decades. There is basically zero chance they ask him to transform his routine in the middle of a season like that. This is even without considering him pulling the veteran respect card.
  10. Your assessment of Vlad Jr. is accurate, but he is not comparable to Manny. While it appeared at times that Manny didn't even fully grasp the rules of baseball, at the plate he was one of the most cerebral and detail oriented hitters of all time. He had one of the most technically consistent right handed swings of all time. He may have been autistic. Vlad has altered his swing more in the past 5 years than Manny did in his entire career. The two are not comparable, for better or for worse. There's a lot of content on Manny out there, he's a fascinating figure.
  11. Looking at that list it's probably better that he doesn't sign more extensions.
  12. It tells us how historically valuable a defensive catcher with a good hit tool are. I'm guessing the projections don't adequately account for how slow and out of shape Kirk is, even for a catcher. Kirk is really pissing away a lot of potential by not getting into better shape, not to mention his long term health beyond baseball.
  13. We're carrying guys like Paolo Espino on the 40. After the trade deadline, Pearson arguably becomes the best reliever on the 26, mostly because our pen is horrible. I really don't think they moved Pearson because of a roster crunch. He's exactly the kind of player you want to try to develop during a lost season. This move only makes sense if they were unusually high on the prospect return or they intend to compete in 2025.
  14. Lindor is a future Hall of Famer. Potentially first ballot depending on how he ages. He could have been marketed as one of the faces of baseball like Ken Griffey Jr. but people are stupid
  15. Anthopoulos bringing the World Series back to Canada and breaking the Shapiro curse would be a legacy move. At that point he is easily a HOF executive. People here would still pout about the prospects he traded in the 2010s.
  16. People sketching out the rest of Moreno's career based on a few hundred MLB PA are making decisions based on emotion.
  17. Unless this guy is Tony Gwynn reincarnated, you need to evaluate him when he's in a slump.
  18. The league will adjust by spamming fastballs inside and forcing him to hurt them. The key will be how he adjusts.
  19. People who are swallowing Orelvis' sob story need to grow up and face reality. The only thing management needs to be doing is figure out when he started on gear so they can adjust their projections.
  20. Siddall just said "s***" watching Schneider catch a foul tip lol
  21. Brandon Little is our best lefty in the pen
  22. Great AB by Horwitz
  23. Clement has a cannon for an arm. His throws have been such garbage this year I didn't notice until this inning.
  24. Guarantee Whisky Pete is gonna mix it up with the umpire before the game is over
