  1. im so used to the AA way....if I heard a rumour I knew it was false....now I hear a rumour and it comestibles true.....this is goingt I take some getting used to. In this case, I kinda wished it was all just a bad dream...
  2. It's not just that he better not give up prospects....it's that he better get a bag of gold, along with Bruce
  3. I can think of many scenarios that would see the Jays below .500 with EE and Jose still healthy putting up their "normal" numbers....
  4. Would they really? This is 100% true (and something I hadn't previously considered) for the fringe QO guys like Ian Kennedy, Gallardo, Howie Kendrick, D.Fowler, etc.....but are EE and Jose going to get less cash on the open market if they have draft pick compensation attached? I'm assuming only teams ready to win now would go after them (although we always have the Arizona's and the Baltimore's of the league...).
  5. yep - the old regime in Seattle would have been all over him.
  6. can someone clarify what Jose is talking about re: Rogers stock for me. I'm dumn
  7. I'm not sure I really understand what Jose is getting at. Rogers' stock is just under $50 right now....about the same value it was at this time back in 2013 when the Jays were fresh off another disappointing season....yet Jose is suggesting their stock price shot up in October 2015 (by 12%) because the Blue Jays were in the playoffs (dropping 8.5% in Nov/Dec)???? Is that what he's getting at? Seriously?
  8. Not sure I buy this. IMO - he should simply say "I want to get paid fair market value"......Suggesting he's given the Jays a hometown discount already - without acknowledging the Jays took on risk when they signed him long term after 1 great season is very short sighted. If he didn't provide surplus in his past deal do you think he's say "The Jays overpaid me for the past 5 years, so I'm willing to give them a discount now"? Not a chance.
  9. point taken - so it appears he's still using that old s***** glove. Makes note to go see eye doctors.
  10. the one on the left looks like an old glove - is that him on the right too? if so then it is for sure a new glove.
  11. can someone confirm my tulo glove question above please. I don't care about Sanchi's abs.
  12. This provides everyone with a good opportunity to use up those awesome GIFs they have been storing up... http://hypervocal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Clint-Eastwood.gif http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/MAD.gif http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/clint_ew.gif
  13. It's the same....if you "start" late on your toe tap or on a leg kick, you're screwed. Both are just timing mechanisms, although you can argue the leg kick generates more momentum.
  14. I wish there were reports that Bello spent all offseason working his tail off with some defensive wizard to improve his defense at 1st - and in LF. It's hard to fathom how much more valuable Bello would be to the Jays if he was passable in LF. I'm really interested to follow Bello and Pillar this year. Both are massive question marks and keys to the Jays overall success if you ask me.
  15. Even a broken clock is right twice a day...
  16. isn't Tulo one of those guys who's constantly tinkering with his stance? I could be wrong on this...
  17. Tulo still rocking that old s***** glove? or is that him in both pictures?....and he's working in a new red/blue glove on the right?
  18. Let's be honest, if he can't outpitch Aardsma - then we shouldn't even talk about Biagini....
  19. http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2011/4/14/2110082/why-dont-sabermetric-gms-have-sabermetric-managers-and-shouldnt-they#storyjump This article raises a good point.....GM's are using sabermetric's - but this trend is lagging with managers....why? Did they not see how stupid Art Howe looked in Moneyball?
  20. his OBP in 1992 was .304...it was pathetic. We all know why Cito batted him leadoff and it had nothing to do with his OBP.
  21. Those 2 earn paychecks like nobody else. It would be like an engineer suggesting we install watermain made from wood (which yes, they used to do back in the early 1900's). Don't think people would pay us for those type of suggestions.
  22. Tulo was statistically the BEST HITTER IN BASEBALL in 2014 with an wRC+ of 170.......and people are seriously about giving Pillar more at bats than him? jesus f***.
  23. Looks like they also moved the right field wall in to help hid Bautista's defensive issues!!!
  24. Christ - why do you guys have to get me going with Jeff Blair nonsense on a Friday? (shakes fist)
  25. dumb and dumber are getting paid to have that discussion......and fans complain about players getting paid too much.
