  1. I was at the game today. Had the whole family, so my notes suck, but here goes: - Happ was hitting 91-92 MPH. He didn't look overly impressive. - Alford looks like a tank. - Ump blew a strike call before Pillar hit the triple. - Urera looked good. Made a sweat diving catch into the trap right in front of me. - Goins still taking too big of rips at times...came out of his shoes once I think. - Greene was hitting 95-98 MHP, but got noticeably bothered with runners on base. Lots his composure/focus a bit. Saw him throwing in the pen...stud. - Speaking of studs, Kiermaier....he signed a ball for my son and there's a picture of it in the Tampa Bay Times under their live blog. http://www.tampabay.com/sports/baseball/rays/ 3:48pm. Overall, fun day had by all.
  2. Inverted W will prevent him from starting...
  3. Wow, that's quite the trip....mind if I ask what it cost?
  4. Easy with the big picture goal. He probably sat down and wrote "put on pants" then patted himself on the back for a job well done..
  5. I'm going to assume you've never had back issues...
  6. Throws up in mouth......who hates the Chavez deal now? Need SP'ing depth...
  7. I don't have him on my IL - but every time I see his avatar of that f*** face from KC - I consider it...
  8. Actually, some of the best change ups in the game (King Felix, Grienke) only have 4-5 MPH difference....it's untraditional, but it's getting amazing results....not saying Sanchez's change is good by any means, but the old 10 mph adage is not necessarily true anymore.
  9. Tampa technically has 2 knuckleballers in their system now - maybe Thole will try to use that as leverage for a raise!
  10. Can't I just be a baseball fan?
  11. I was at the Twins/Rays game today. Notes includes: - Blake Snell looked really good. Fastball was 94-97. - Park finally stopped striking out long enough to hit a grand slam. - Arcia looked over matched by good fastballs. - Odorizzi struggled with his command. Nothing exciting really. Took my 5 year old though and he loved it. He even took over score keeping in the 5th inning...it was pretty cool to see him so into the game...
  12. You guys are harsh. Perhaps career year from someone who's not establish would be a better description. How do you measure it? WAR Pompey or whoever win the 5th spot in the rotation looks like a good choice to me
  13. D He be leg kickin' for days yo
  14. If you choose NY - call and see if you can get tickets for the stadium tour... Personally, I've neen to NYC twice and I wouldn't go back....my next city trip will be to Washington....that said, your trip seems to be all about the baseball...Yankee Stadium is pretty sweet, but isn't the atmosphere s*** now as fans aren't filling it because Jeter is gone and they don't know the players names anymore? Last year there were only Jays fans in the seats after the 7th inning...
  15. I get what you're saying, but I think you underestimate the value Chavez provides as SP'ing depth.....God knows we need solid SP'ing depth to win.
  16. It was hard to watch...
  17. I think you underestimate how s***** Jeff Blair is. Kevin Barker may also still be on the radio...
  18. When he's catching Dickey - it's supposed to be Martin's day off...if you keep pinch hitting for him in the 6th or 7th....Martin doesn't get the rest he needs.
  19. Take your hacks in the cage. Spring training games should used to work on your approach...work on doing what you do best.
  20. It doesn't work that way sir. It's been well documented.
  21. I'm calling Shatkins insane or wanting Bruce - aren't the rest of you?
  22. 2 year $15M. Get it done
  23. It would be amazing to know how many players are stuck in 1993...
  24. First - I have no idea why you are so convinced Brown is broken and needs to be fixed by a hitting coach - but Bruce isn't after posting a wRC+ under 90 in his last 1000+ PA's. They both suck. My point continues to be the marginally higher chance that Bruce bounces back is not worth giving up assets and/or spending what little budget we have remaining....There is/was massive risk in taking on Bruce (unless the Reds were going to cover the $9M difference in salary, which is unlikely and the Jays only gave up Saunders) for the outside chance he rebounds to a the point where he's significantly better than what Saunders/Pompey could get you.
  25. Correct - one costs you $13.5M, the other does - which has been a very important part of my debate which you seem to be ignoring...
