  1. Everyone complains about Syndergaard & TDA for Dickey........what about Archer for Mark DeRosa....peeeeeee-u
  2. Does anyone think the Jays will be reluctant to put Osuna in the rotation based on his inverted W mechanics and the possibility it will prevent him from every becoming a durable starting pitcher?
  3. Does it really matter if you're making as much $$$ and working in LA?
  4. Or given a true opportunity to...
  5. Most teams would be screwed if both the LF and RF had long-term injuries. That said, we probably have a higher probably of getting screwed due to Saunder's missing meniscus and Jose's age.
  6. It remains to be seen whether he's relevant or not... But OK, you caught me.
  7. What the f*** is the point of paying an international scout when every relevant international players signs with the Dodgers?
  8. Yeah my bad. I didn't word that very well. Regardless, I was unaware that there's a lot of Mormon's in Mexico.
  9. Speaking of Stubbs, we should sign him to a minor league deal and invite him to spring training...
  10. Time out....Mexicans are primarily mormon? Mind blown
  11. It's like some of you forgot how he traded Vernon Wells and acquired Josh Donaldson...Jesus.
  12. If we offered Saunders then Storen wouldn't be a Blue Jay sir
  13. The average listener should go play in traffic then....those are great questions
  14. Have you ever been to California? "hey kids - we're moving to California and daddy's going to have a lot less stress and a lot more time to spend with you" Seems like a great family decision to me.
  15. I see what you're fishing for...
  16. Billy Butler - 3 yr $30M.
  17. Apparently it's very hard for some to remember how we judged hitters back in 2007...
  18. In who's eyes though? the HOF voters or Fangraph's WAR? 2005 - Utley .291/.376/.540 28hr 105 rbi 16 sb 2005 - Soriano .280/.309/.512 36 hr 104 rbi 30 sb 2006 - Utley .309/.379/.527 32 hr 102 rbi 15 sb 2006 - Pedroia .326/.376/.493 15 hr 83 rbi 20 sb (MVP) 2007 - Utley 22 hr 104 runs 103 rbi 9 sb 2007 - Phillips 30 hrs 107 runs 94 rbi 32 sb If you ignore WAR (as most did in 2005/06 and as some voters still do) then I think you can argue other 2nd basemen in baseball were in the same conversation as Utley in his prime....."nowhere near as good" is a bit of a stretch IMO. Edmonds has the most WAR of a CF between 1995 and 2005 (including A.Jones during his prime) in his best season was 2 WAR better than the next best (Beltran) CF in baseball. Just sayin'
  19. Yeah I get that....although Utley wasn't overly flashy either. He was never an MVP, never won gold gloves, no big post season numbers or championship rings to his name. He was a mid 20 to low 30 HR hitter, which didn't stand out much between 2005 and 2009. There were other 2nd basemen between 2005 and 2009 to have big years (Soriano, Phillips, Uggla, Pedroia and his MVP season), although none with the consistency of Utley. For me - Utley was much like Edmonds. A very well rounded player who generated a ton of value on the defensive side (which was grossly undervalued in the mid 2000's).
  20. Jackson is coming off a 2.3 WAR season (better than all but one season is Revere's career). The only way I could see him interested in Toronto is if he's given the LF job and we leave Pompey in AAA. I guess that's a possibility if Jackson will come on the cheap....although D.Span's crazy deal may have ruined that opportunity...
  21. Utley's only at 61 WAR....Edmonds had 66 career WAR (which Utley likely doesn't get to) and he's booted off the list after 1 season. Beltran's at 66 WAR, he should have a shot if he can get past 70.
  22. If he stays healthy, he has a good shot...he'll be 37 by the time this season starts. Phenomenal player though.
  23. Funny thing is - I'm not sure he's a shoe in because the voters are stupid. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Ortiz gets more support than Beltre.
  24. You can look at it this way....who's more valuable to the current team....Revere in LF (with Pompey/Saunders on the bench), or Chavez providing SP depth... I'd rather have the SP depth personally. Storen replaces Hendrix
