  1. This is so cool. I love the Mariachis de Nuevo México. Reminds me of the movie "Coco" The Locos have a sweet deal too...tickets to 3 games (box seats) + an official hat for $55. Everything else on it's own is really expensive ($36 for the hat alone).
  2. You're really good at this writing thing.
  3. My comment has nothing to do with my opinion - it has to do with the fact that you're thick headed and unable to see/comprehend another view or perspective and thus it's pointless to debate with you.
  4. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/war-update-catcher-framing/ I thought I'd post the link on this. They've also incorporated framing into the pitching WAR, which I don't believe was mentioned here yet. Pretty cool stuff.
  5. 3 pages later and you guys are still trying to reason with Jim? c'mon, you're better than that!
  6. Holy s*** - this makes it look like Sal Perez is pure s***. 2018 Maile would be the 2nd best of Sal's career, who's now only been worth 1.0+ WAR twice in his career.
  7. Holy s***. I think his career WAR was in the low 30's before this change. I know he was behind Jason Kendell.
  8. Jesus. I just sorted by 220 PA's and learned that the top catcher in baseball are: 1. Grandal - 4.9. What a steal for the Brewers to get him for 1 yr $18M 2. Realmuto - 4.8 3. Alfaro - 3.1. I know the BABIP will plummet, but his defense is really good. If he ever hits, the Marlins did good to take a chance on him. 4. Stassi - 2.6 5. Cervelli - 2.6 6. Flowers -2.5 7. Gomes - 2.5 8. Posey - 2.4 9. Yadi - 2.3 10. Hedges - 2.2. SD does everything they can to replace this guy... 11. Maile - 2.2 Catchers below Maile include Ramos, Zunino, Sanchez, Willson Contreras (0.9 - who now appears to be s*** with framing included), Sal Perez (0.6 - ditto)
  9. With another 79.5 WAR, Trout will finish 5th overall in ML history for WAR from a position player.
  10. https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/1737841/blue-jays-increasing-minor-leaguers-salaries-by-over-50-percent Wainwright's math - not mine
  11. Why would the Royals sell him to the Jays then? Just trying to clear a spot on their 40 man roster I guess?
  12. Amazing to see the Jays do what's right. Can you imagine getting paid $1,100 a month? f*** me. I read they worked it out and they make like $2/hr or something insane. It's amazing that 'career minor leaguers' even exist.
  13. Does Jason Adam have options? I assume not?
  14. Are we looking at Galvis at SS and LGJ at 2nd to start the season? (with Drury at 3rd)
  15. I'd have a beer with ya CD.
  16. I wonder if this is going to create a market for batters who crush lefties. The 26th spot on the roster will create the ability to carry more platoon guys who crush the opposite hand pitcher. You want to bring in a lefty to neutralize someone hitting 4th or 5th like a Bellinger, Belt or Rizzo? There will be 2 more lefty killers coming in off the bench to make you pay...
  17. If you could NOT share your dick sandwich with me - that would be great. Thanks.
  18. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/daniel-murphy-talks-hitting/ I thought this was a cool article.
  19. A rebuilding team just signed Adam Jones to start for them...
  20. Holy f*** Jim - we know your thoughts on this subject.
  21. I agree. Max, Chapman - exciting to watch. Watching Tepera and other fastball/slider pitchers strike out a guy an inning isn't exciting (to me). Not all K's are made equal, just like not all defensive plays are made equal. Routine grounders and lazy flies aren't fun...but diving plays, slick double plays, etc. are. We have way more talent/athleticism in the game then we did 10-15 years ago. I want to see it utilized. Personally, I think it slows down the pace when there aren't balls put in play. Pace and speeding up the game go hand in hand IMO. It's like in basketball - teams have increased the pace, more shot attempts per game - it's more exciting. Fewer strikeouts probably means fewer pitches, which means the game moves along quicker and there's more action.
  22. Great example. I mean I could counter that and say watching Greg Maddux or Doc Halladay pitch to contact used to be extremely entertaining too...
  23. I'd love to see Alford make the jump and force his way into our lineup this year. Alford, Pillar + Grichuk would be fun to watch defensively.
