  1. Why the f*** would Brantley have signed in TO? I mean if we could attract a good FA - if we would have gone that route, we could now be stuck with Marwin Gonzalez....a lot of people were on board with signing him because he looked like such a bargain. Let's be fair - the only players willing to sign here were the ones who needed full time starting positions to rebuild their value (Shoemaker, Galvis, etc.) - and we got some of those guys, and they have been great. Morton - yes, sure. I think every team in baseball should be kicking themselves for not offering Morton a better contract than the Rays did, Toronto included. I mean we did get Buchholz, who was coming off a pretty awesome year too. Just turns out he's probably washed up.
  2. How could we have 'hit' any better than we have with Sogard? Galvis is back to being Galvis, but those 2 vets have been great signings so far. Shoemaker also appeared to be a huge 'hit' before his unfortunately injury.
  3. Man - they were rebuilding in 2017 and 2018. You can deny that all you want; however, avoiding commitments to long term FA's in 2017 and 2018 was part of the rebuild, keeping almost all of our prospects was part of the rebuild, trading veteran relievers and anyone of any value for marginal 'lotto ticket' prospects was part of the rebuild. They have successfully restocked the farm system to the point it's now widely considered to be top 5 in the league. Keeping the likes of Happ, Martin, Morales, Pillar, etc. in 2017 and 2018, while resigning Estrada, trading for Solarte, etc. was part of the effort to field at least a palatable roster. The plan was to try and remain competitive through the rebuild - however, it simply didn't work (that's baseball). Now that they've dealt all those veteran guys - you can see why they chose that route (because they are all worth next to nothing). I mean they could have sold Sanchez and Donaldson right after the 2016 season, but you (should) be able to understand why they didn't (actually - I don't expect you to understand). Injuries destroyed that value. in 2019 they've clearly decided that adding some veterans to try and field at least a palatable roster was no longer worth it. They needed to see what they had in some of these fringe players. You can cherry pick some FA signings and potential trades all you want - but it's pretty pointless. I look forward to your respond, which I fully expect will include a lot of 'I told you so's'.
  4. This start is sure going to help the Blue Jays when Vladdy sues them for service time manipulation. Maybe Shatkins was right that he needed more seasoning in the minors.
  5. he posted a wRC+ of 100 as a 22 year old in A+ ball last year...he's off to a great start, but he's still probably nothing.
  6. Did Michael J Fox take that video? f***.
  7. Were you asleep for 2017 and 2018?
  8. that one's an A+
  9. would you pay money to go watch this team?
  10. yeeesh - it's rough times in Minny. Best team in the league + a new stadium and still nobody attending. I think MLB teams need to face the reality that baseball games are expensive, there's a s*** ton of games and people simply aren't interested in attending as much as they used to be. Retrofitting stadiums with larger seats/aisles and reducing capacities to 30K-40K may be necessary.
  11. Do we actually have the technology to be perfect though?
  12. I feel like broadcast crews should post that table and talk about it a few times. Adding the K-zone to the game is great, but it's certainly changed the fans perspective on umpires.
  13. They actually have stats on this. You could go look them up to ensure you're not just talking out your ass - but you won't.
  14. Maybe Minny wants Stro, Smoak and Giles for Kirilloff
  15. I love how Tabby is questioning if the Twins have enough in their farm system to acquire another SPer if needed......f*** me. Put Biagini's meaty cock back in your throat and stop talking.
  16. What do we think of Biagini this year? Buck and Tabby are slobbering all over his meat-stick. Bring Maile back in...
  17. Move Maile to the bullpen full time?
  18. Brito and Hansen will do that to the best of us.
  19. Yordan Alvarez looks ready for the bigs...yikes.
  20. Sogard posted a -0.8 WAR in 113 PA's last year. He belongs squarely in the comparison with Hansen and Brito. Galvis probably not (thanks to his durability and defense....he's a career 78 wRC+ hitter).
