  1. which one of y'all is Daniel Labude?
  2. Religion and children don't mix it seems.
  3. are you trolling me friend?
  4. Didn't we hear that Grandal turned down some multi-year deals to sign with the Brew Crew?
  5. plus we all know that 2nd basemen in their early to mid 30's always fall off a cliff. Yanks signed him to be a backup player, which is probably a good fit moving forward (can he play a little 3rd too? or does he not have the arm)
  6. DJL turns 31 this year and his value is almost solely generated by this defense. He has a lot of similarities to Pillar (Pillar runs better). He's a 2 WAR player (2016 appears to be an anomaly) and I don't think teams are willing to buy into him as a starter moving forward. I fully expect to see the same thing happen to Pillar when he hits free agency.
  7. That's fair. We'll see if they finish this offseason with Ray on their team.
  8. I think you should shift the D-Backs down into the s*** category....sans Goldy, Pollock and Corbin - they gonna suck.
  9. + he'd still be arb eligible for the 2020 season. A nice benefit if you're taking a chance on him.
  10. I still think he just tells teams that he has to be guaranteed $X million or he's going to play MLB... He can be drafted, but he doesn't have to sign.
  11. Derek Holland back to SF on a 1 yr, $7M deal. Blake Parker signs with the Twins. 1 yr, $1.8M (which could go to $3.2M with incentives) Those both seems like solid value.
  12. Especially as a QB...
  13. Is that from an article? or is that from your inside s***? Either way - it's gold Jerry, gold.
  14. Gift Ngoepe has signed a minor league deal with the Phillies. The native of South Africa is currently competing in the Australian Baseball League where he has a 1.011 OPS in 30 games with the Sydney Blue Sox.
  15. The Alomar "double arms" pose after the HR off Eck would be a classic as well - and probably 1 or 1A on the best options. A statue of Doc would round out the top 3 IMO.
  16. Based on what Big Cecil reported - you may be overestimating the value of Martin's mentor-ship...
  17. I don't see anything wrong with statues that commemorate both historic events - and great franchise players. This would obviously be the former.
  18. They still have Barnes...
  19. ahead of Ryan Noda
  20. walks like a champ. beauty step out too.
  21. 15) Ronny Brito, SS, Grade C+: Age 19, signed out of Dominican Republic in 2015 for $2,000,000; hit .295/.359/.496 with 11 homers, 23 walks, 78 strikeouts in 234 at-bats between Dominican Summer League and Pioneer League; aggressive hitter with power upside, plenty of bat speed but approach rather raw; range and arm work well at shortstop and errors should decline with experience; ETA 2022. - that's per John Sickels
  22. although in reality - LeMahieu is a backup player. He's a below average hitter who's excellent defensively. The Yanks can't justify playing someone with his bat at 1st base very often (unless it's a late inning defensive replacement).
  23. This. I think most casuals think Russ Martin sucks because of his low average. I suspect most think he was a horrible signing also. Casuals are dumb.
  24. Jack Curry of YES Network reports that the Yankees are closing in on a two-year contract with DJ LeMahieu. Curry says that the Yankees plan to use LeMahieu -- who will earn $24 million, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic -- at second, third and first base. The fit is a strange one, as the Yanks already have Gleyber Torres, Miguel Andujar and Troy Tulowitzki pegged for jobs and that's not even including Didi Gregorius' (elbow) eventual return. LeMahieu will get to trade one hitter-friendly park for another, but he'll have to change leagues and doesn't figure to play as much as he had in Colorado. The signing would also seem to further diminish the chances of the Yankees signing Manny Machado. Those NY teams sure like to stack their infield with too many good players... edit: f***ing late again.
  25. Why can't he demand that? or at least let teams know what it would take to get him to opt out of his deal with Oakland to pursue football? I'd love to know the details of his deal with Oakland. If they say he can't sign, or play football, then you'd think there's nothing wrong him him entering the draft and getting drafted. Once that happens, he can decide where he wants to go. This is a very weak QB class and we just saw an undersized QB (Mayfield) and a hybrid QB (Jackson) pay immediate dividends for the teams who weren't afraid to go against the grain of the "typical" NFL QB. If Murray did go Top 10 - I would understand why he'd forgo baseball. s***** backups like Mike Glennon can make like $18.5M a year.
