  1. Dude, someone asked who trade targets would be at CF/2nd/3rd who are young and have control left. I spent 3 minutes scanning fangraphs and threw out a few names. You're really upset with one of those suggestions - I get it. Can we let it go? Why did the A's trade Josh Donaldson coming off an 88-74 season? Don't know, but they did.
  2. Because we offer them something they value more? Why did the Brewers give up Trent Grisham? I'm just tossing out ideas bruh.
  3. Let's stop pretending that Vladdy playing 3rd base is an option.
  4. Because nobody cares about GG winners...
  5. How about Ramon Laureano? Maybe Whit Merrifield? I also wonder what the Reds are up to...do they think they are still in a compete window? Eugenio Suárez and Nick Senzel could be available. It's not impossible....Trent Grisham was traded last offseason. He's the type of guy we'd love to add (recognizing he didn't come cheap).
  6. I think you might be on to something! Maybe the fictitious symbol you prey to will show you the way.
  7. Fair point that from Seattle's perspective Seager's only there for 2021 anyway. $6M isn't normally much to worry about - but it might be in the 2020 offseason. Just read the Twins were probably going to non-tender Eddie Roserio because he was projected to make $10-$12M in arbitration. He's been a pretty solid player for the Twins, who are in the middle of a contending window. Roark for Seager - done!
  8. I have zero confidence in his ability to play 1st base long term, let alone 3rd base. I also have zero confidence in his ability to get to a reasonable weight (240 lbs?) and to keep it off for more than a few months. I'm happy to see he's acknowledged he has a problem - it would be great to hear him acknowledge his hitting has also been s*** and that he needs to start taking his career seriously, put in his work, learn the art of hitting and get better.
  9. with Groshans and Martin on the way, I wonder if we'd be able to trade for Kyle Seager AND get a solid prospect in exchange for taking on his remaining salary (which would be 2 years, $36M I believe as his 2022 club option is automatically exercised if traded. He would shore up 3rd base for the next couple of seasons while Groshans and/or Martin develop. Obviously this depends on what type of prospect we could get for eating Seager's contract, but I think we have that type of financial flexibility. Or - maybe we give them Roark in exchange for Seager...
  10. Springer will be entering his Age 32 season. Anyone expecting him to play CF for the foreseeable future at an average to above average level is fooling themselves. Springer is a phenomenal player, but his best fit is on a team that can transition him to RF within the next year or two - where he should remain above average for a bit.
  11. Happy to see Alex Gordon win the GG in his final season. The fact that Alex Gordon is retiring makes me feel super old.
  12. I don't recommend letting a Jim Bowden article effect the way you feel. Or any FA prediction article on the internet. It's all ********. Same with pre and post game interviews and almost everything that broadcasters say.
  13. The only way it makes sense is if you trade Teo or Gurriel and then add Joc to be the strong side of a platoon with Grichuk. Seems really unlikely, although the 2018/2019 version of Joc is a really solid player.
  14. I am. I mean it's not my style, but I'm good with everything except that shirt.
  15. I think he missed my point Spanky...
  16. Except Law lists Pardinho as a potential starter (without lumping him in with SWR as a reliver risk) even though he's younger and coming off TJS. So either that's not his logic, or he's incredibly inconsistent applying his logic.
  17. And they don't even try to fix the mechanical flaw because that stress is necessary to generate the results they are getting (and need to succeed)?
  18. Reminds me a lot of LeMahieu before the Yankees signed him to be honest...only Semien can play SS.
  19. Apparently because his arm is late? Can anyone explain how that apparent mechanical flaw would make you a higher risk to end up in the bullpen? He thinks it will lead to arm injuries? He won't be consistent enough to start? I don't get it.
  20. I wonder if we're out there looking specifically to add players who handle high velocity fastballs.
  21. So you hated adding Anderson, Roark and Yama, but want us to bring back Ray, Walker and Shoemaker. Got it.
  22. Maybe use this time to learn about baseball in general and the teams outside of Toronto?
  23. Of course Keith Law is down on SWR. He always has to go against the grain with a couple of prospects.
