    This With Vlad at 3rd and Tellez at 1st. Hold the fort down until Martin or Groshans are ready to play 3rd? I mean that wouldn't be my first option, but it may be something they are considering.

    Speaking of Fisher - isn't he a DFA candidate? No options and that mental block in the field...we haven't heard anything about him this offseason - will they keep him around as a 5th OFer? Maybe they do through spring training just as insurance if there's an injury?

    Will our ability to monitor stress on the body (the load management team is what I'll say as I can't recall the baseball term) help allow Springer to age more gracefully? or are we still not there from a medical perspective?

    If Moose significantly drags down the cost to acquire Grey or Castillo, then I'm OK with this - otherwise, 3 years at $48M is little too long and rich for our short term fix at 3rd. Curious to see where this all lands.

    66th in wRC+ means that at age 21, he's a top 2 or 3 hitter on an average ML team.

    2021 is his age 31 season. We have him from his age 31 through his age 36 season. We sign a guy who's been a 6+ WAR player the past 2 years and people are pissed - good god. Also, don't forget Anthony Rendon got 7 years $245M last year. He's owed $219M over the next 6 years ($36.5M AAV). Yes he's a year younger and better than Springer, but is his worth 46% more than Springer? Maybe we did get a COVID discount... I'd suggest you just relax and see what else the offseason has in store for the Blue Jays. This FO deserves your respects and trust sir.

    It would be interesting to see if we have to give Brantley the extra year, or the extra $$ to get him to TO. This is his age 34 season. 3 years seems risky and 4 years would be scary. Does Springer allow us to get him on a 2 year deal? He's a 3.5-4 WAR player over the past 3 years.

    Man you're a wet blanket. His last few years could also be Nelson Cruz like, or David Ortiz like, or Adrian Beltre like, or Justin Turner like, or Joey Votto like. There are all kinds potential outcomes. We sign a massive FA and you're caught up in what that 6th year may look like. C'mon man. Be a fan.

    Why? we don't have payroll issues. I mean if you can get someone to take his contract - great, but that's unlikely. Why pay $5M/year for him to play elsewhere? Why give up a real prospect to get a team to take him? He's currently amazing depth to have. Good teams have great depth.

    No need to dump Grichuk - good teams have good 4th OFers. Grichuk is a good 4th OFer.

    Grichuk is a very good 4th OFer on a good baseball team. We're now a good baseball team. I'm perfectly fine with him eating up the 500 PA's that the 4th OFer typically gets. If they are going to sign Brantley, they probably have something up their sleeve for Teo or Gurriel - or zero faith in Tellez.

    OMG - so many people kept going on and on and on and on about how Shapiro only dumpster dives and they don't know how to run a large market team. Like because they came from a small market team (which they built up very well) that they were only capable of running a team one way. This should FINALLY shut them all the f*** up. They told us they would spend when the time was right and now they have. Everyone should have a very high level of faith in this FO.
