  1. Can we send TJ Zoinks and SRF to Driveline?
  2. Gatto's agent deserves a raise.
  3. Might be if we can trade a catcher or two for Lindor, CFer or SPer...
  4. 4 years for McCann? That's insane.
  5. Wisler threw his slider 81.3% of the time last year. Holy f***!
  6. Lefty masher.
  7. I get it and it's highly unlikely we'd get them both - but there must be at least 800 PA's available between middle infield, 3rd and our 4th OFer. Right now we're giving those PA's to Jonathan Davis, Espinal or this years version of Joe Panik. I think we all agree it's unlikely we're getting Segura either way unless Philly is eating some of the contract or taking back a bad contract. Would you add both Wong and Segura if they were both about 2 years @ $7.5M AAV?
  8. I have to think so at this point.
  9. Is there a world in which we'd sign Wong and trade for Segura? Wong needs to be platooned and it's not like we have any 'lefty mashers' on the roster who play 2nd/3rd. With Segura able to play 2nd/SS/3rd and Biggio able to play 2nd/3rd/OF are there enough at bats to go around when you factor in injuries and the DH spot? Segura is a nice get as he's provide more depth at SS in the event of an injury to Bo. Our infield defense would be great and we'd be adding a couple of bats that make contact and don't strike out much.
  10. Franco sucks. What the hell is wrong with you people? Career wRC+ of 91.
  11. Makes me wonder what Didi will sign for...
  12. $28.5M over 2 years, plus a club option for 2023 of $17M (or $1M buyout). At first glance, he seems like an alternative to Kolton Wong. He 'probably' gives you more offensively, but less defensively. He's more versatile than Wong, but probably costs a lot more too (unless Philly covers some of the cost). Give them Roark in return and giddy up.
  13. Rays RHP prospect Nick Bitsko underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a labrum issue in his right shoulder. Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times tweets that Bitsko is sure to "miss some of [the] 2021 season" but that the exact timeline for his return can't be determined until he gets into the rehab process. The 18-year-old right-hander was selected 24th overall in the 2020 MLB Draft out of a high school in Pennsylvania.
  14. 214 wins. More than Doc and 5 less than Pedro Martinez. 55 less than Jamie Moyer.
  15. Really is too bad the Jays didn't get him 2 more innings in 2015 so he could finish his career with 15 straight 200+ inning seasons. I was originally a huge White Sox fan back in the early 2000's and I always loved MB. I'd actually forgotten how good he was for the Jays. Very solid over 3 seasons at the end of his career. Great career, but he's no HOFer.
  16. Does anyone know what the TV audience is for college baseball in the US v. college basketball/football? I suspect it's rather s***** (much like hockey). Why is that? You'd think that improving the exposure and interest at the college level would help grow the sport a lot.
  17. What are these opinions based on?
  18. Well that couldn't have gone any worse for the poor guy. 1 completion and he only ran the ball twice himself? A lot of couch potatoes sitting at home wondering if they could have done better.
  19. He was 10th in DRS and 9th in Fangraph's Def rankings last year (for second basemen). Short season but yes, he was very solid defensively at 2nd.
  20. Excellent point. No idea how you keep Tabby and cut Wilner.
  21. That's a fair take. He definitely over did it at times, but man - can you imagine taking those calls day after day? I'd go insane.
  22. Unpopular opinion, but I liked Wilner as the PBP voice. I also loved how he s*** all over all the morons who called into the post game show. The world needs knights like Wilner who consistently s*** on people with uneducated opinions.
  23. Damn - that Fisher Cats hat is awesome. You can show me any picture you want - this isn't a kid who's worked out a lot in his career. If he does, and builds muscle, there's a chance he realizes even more potential IMO (v. a top prospect who is already chiseled like Yasiel Puig)
  24. I don't know man - it's pretty obvious he hasn't been on any sort of strict workout routine in his life. He's built like a milk bag. Vlad can tell you about that time he flipped a tire or did a couple of curls, but it's pretty obvious he underestimated the effort required to maintain the body of a professional athlete. Hopefully he's learned his lesson and has adjusted his lifestyle to sustain some long term improvements.
