  1. This can't be good - need to get lucky
  2. Jansen hits home run it's 7-5
  3. Buck just told us that if you drive the ball on either side of the infielder, you'll get a hit....brilliant stuff.
  4. The lefty reliver isn't afraid to throw change ups to right handed batter....that's some impressive insight there Tabby.
  5. I know we hate Panik, but if he hits like he did in the 2nd half last year (which has so far), he's a quality guy to have on the bench.
  6. I can't tell if you're a troll - or an idiot. Could you clarify for us?
  7. Pearson looks good in a mansier...
  8. Keeps the actually people separated at least...
  9. Imagine how nice it must be for Angel fans to watch Simmons and now Iglesias play shortstop.
  10. This is technically his age 30 season, but he turns 31 in September. I'd much rather look at a 3 or 4 year deal. It will be interesting to see what they do with him with the likes of Martin, Orelvis, Groshans, etc. all coming along soon. While I agree - I love what he's brought - I'm not sure we'll be looking to lock up a MI spot for 5 years to a guy in his 30's. Lots can happen though between now and the end of the year.
  11. Is this the year that Buxton becomes a superstar?
  12. while getting nothing from Votto or Suarez. I think the Reds have a fun team. I'm curious to see what guys like Winkler, Senzel and India become and they have studs like Castellanos and Suarez + vets like Votto and Moose. They should score a lot of runs, but the D and pitching fall short so they probably won't win enough this year.
  13. Angel in mid season form Baseballer (@thebsblr) • Instagram video WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM 24K likes, 840 comments - thebsblr on April 7, 2021: "Umpiring is a struggle for Angel Hernandez to say the least... 🎥 @apollohou | @mlb".
  14. the 'alternative training site' is replicating the minor leagues right now correct? ie, we can't send him there. I'd say Ray replaces Roark this week (if his throwing sessions goes well) - Roark replaces Milone as the mop up guy. We run Zeuch out there again to see what he's got and if/when that goes sideways, we give Kay/Thornton a shot and hold down the fort until Pearson is back. I kind of which we'd just go sign Porcello though.
  15. Ray is throwing today so we should know soon whether he's ready to rejoin the rotation. The question may be whether he replaces Roark or Zeuch.
  16. I was pretty amazed how critical Siddel and Campbell were last night (and rightly so)
  17. It took Buck all of 5 games to tell us that Grichuk's made adjustments to his approach and is a new hitter. Whether it's Pillar or Grichuk, I'm fairly sure Buck's states that yearly. Don't get me wrong - when Randell is hot, he's awesome - but we know what he is (a really good 4th OFer).
  18. Point made. I don't care if every team has fans like this - it's ridiculous.
  19. Man - after reading the last 10 pages, I remember why I typically avoid all GDT's. I don't know how Wilner put up with fans like this for so long.
  20. How did Milone K 40 in 39 innings last year? wowsers. Soak up some innings and let's get the offense going.
  21. George Springer (oblique) made 14 plate appearances in a simulated game on Tuesday in Texas. Per the Blue Jays, Springer went 4-for-11 with three walks and two strikeouts, taking 17 total swings. He is eligible for activation as early as this Thursday after landing on the 10-day injured list just before the start of the regular season -- retroactive to March 29 -- because of a Grade 2 oblique strain that he suffered mid-camp. It's obviously a very good sign that he is currently traveling with the team.
  22. Yes - partial. ______________________ Fernando Tatis Jr. has been diagnosed with a left shoulder subluxation. A subluxation is a partial dislocation. Tatis has dealt with the shoulder popping out of place from time to time over the years, although this time it looked particularly bad when he fell to the ground in pain after a swing on Monday. The Padres are saying that the star shortstop will be re-evaluated on Tuesday before more is known about how much time he might miss. A trip to the injured list certainly would appear likely.
  23. How about batting Pillar leadoff and Nimmo 8th. Nimmo's a career 133 wRC+ hitter with a career OBP of .391. Fire that manager immediately. Seriously.
