  1. Probably bite it by accident - trying to stuff his face too quickly...
  2. We entered the year with essentially the same bullpen we had last year - which was one of the better pen's in baseball....and it was expected to improve with a full season of Green. Unfortunately, this kind of s*** happens far too regularly in baseball. Good news is it can turn around just as quickly.
  3. Velo is down, but Kimbrel has rebounded in the past. He's probably a solid target if you can get him for $4M next year. I've always been a big fan of Kimbrel.
  4. I doubt he gives a f*** with 2 weeks left.
  5. That's fair - but speed also creates some of that luck (not .400 BABIP worth, but some)
  6. No discussion yet on Chris Bassitt's recent statements? Is he just doubling down and trying to erase any perceived negativity towards the FO? What do the tinfoil hat team think?
  7. How many PA's will it take for us to conclude that Victor Robles can sustain this success? 143 wRC+ in 261 PA's this season. Crazy, given what he's show in the majors to this point in his career.
  8. Has anyone been to Globe Life Stadium in Texas? It looks really interesting. I haven't heard a lot about it (being that's it's so new). Just curious.
  9. Shulman said there's a possibility the Varsho injury may "bleed into Spring Training next year". So that "could" mean he's ready for opening day, but it may also mean he's a little behind and may miss time early in 2025. He's have rotator cuff surgery. Jays knew of the Wagner knee issue when they traded for him. They told him he's proven enough and doesn't need to play thru it anymore. His surgery is minor and he should be good to go in 6-8 weeks.
  10. Might as well try him out. Stuff+ loves his slider, but hates the fastball. Good velo, good K's and good control (except for this year in AAA). Giving up way too many home runs, but maybe there's a tweak to be made to his fastball that could unlock some success.
  11. Yordan is a f***ing beast. He's probably the most underrated player in baseball.
  12. This is spot on. And we see this throughout baseball. Teams simply don't move their best prospects the way they did back in the day (when GM's didn't understand how valuable they were to the team) - especially for rentals.
  13. Why are you turning my very straight forward comments that Green was a top notch fireman with the Yanks into something about his current contract. You did this in another thread too - are you trying to troll and bait me or some weird s***? That said - RPers don't necessarily follow the same curve as hitters do. Yates is 37, coming off like 82 injuries/surgeries. David Robertson was the OG Chad Green in NY and he's still going strong after a couple of down years/injuries in his mid 30's. RPs are always a bit of a crap shoot - a box of chocolates. Nothing wrong with adding Chad Green to this team and I certainly wouldn't write him off as being "done".
  14. Buck hates that the game of baseball has changed so much and loves to remind us all of that regularly.
  15. Is Kasevich still really good with the glove? Like a legit SS?
  16. I'm confused. First, I suggested "I'd hate to see him nosedive and for fans to turn on him". I didn't suggest that's happened already. Second - nothing I said had anything to do with whether he was a good FA signing or not. He's one of my all-time fav players. Are you OK?
  17. Neither was Lindor - and he's a Top 3 candidate for NL MVP
  18. Perhaps karma will help him rejuvenate his career (as stupid as that sounds at face value). Adrian Beltre was another one of the good guys who had a major late career swoon. Fingers crossed.
  19. Crash Davis did this and he's a f***ing legend. He's a 21 year old kid. Without knowing a lot about this situation, I'm going to reserve my opinion. That said - I've always wondered if you could just f*** with players. Tell them what's coming - but lie about it....but only lie sometimes - keep them guessing. Could you imagine a catcher doing that in the 9th inning of a tight world series game? I think the batter would be all f***ed up! It would get old fast though - can't do it regularly.
  20. No idea how this will all play out. However, Springer made some pretty tangible changes in his approach mid-season and went on a big time tear after that. He's cooled off, but he certainly started to let it loose more at the plate. Hopefully, that was just a mindset change and something he can simply do and carry forward. Is there a possibility he's been holding back to prevent oblique injuries or something and finally just said "f*** it - this isn't working" and went back to max bat speed? Springer remains one of my favourite players in the league. He appears to be a great teammate and a better person. I do hope he finds the right adjustment to give us a couple of 2-3 WAR seasons to finish off his contract. I'd hate to see him nosedive and for fans to turn on him.
  21. Since June 1st (3.5 months), he's been a 107 wRC+ hitter with a .190 ISO. I think we can live with that. He's seemingly made a big change with how hard he's swinging, which has helped the power return to some extent.
  22. Could you stop (or scale back) with this kinda crap man? It deters from the interesting things you say.
  23. The metrics suggest he sucks, but I must say that when I watch Springer play RF - I don't think he looks below average.
  24. The f***? He was one of the best RP in baseball for years. He was their fireman.
  25. How did he hit lefties in the minors? Even during this excellent season, he's been god awful v. LHP (60 wRC+). He certainly looks like he's a platoon bat.
