  1. KC has lost 7 in a row. 2-8 in their last 10. Minny is 3-7 in their last 10 and the O's have s*** the bed for a couple of months now. Bad timing for these teams, but it should make for a more entertaining end to the season.
  2. I could see people suggesting they are a sleeper pick, but they were never a legit SB contender. Daniels is looking good. Bears fans are starting to get worried - especially with Fields playing well.
  3. LOL - so triggered. At least it's not as bad as AA (and David Frost) giving away Contreras.
  4. Josh Allen is cookin' tonight...wow
  5. LOL - I knew you'd bite at that one. Only you would turn this into a comparison to Atkins. Interestingly enough, Varsho's already eclipsed Pillar's career WAR total. Pillar really only had one good year.
  6. Still can't believe they gave away the best catcher in baseball, who was on his rookie contract. Imagine giving up Esteury Ruiz to get Contreras, who's going to give you like 11.5 WAR in 2 seasons for like $1.5M
  7. 4th year in a row that Smith has declined offensively. wRC+ 130, 127, 118, 108. Will Smith is also 29, so he may have already peaked...
  8. Some might now suggest they can't afford to let Santander walk. Early this year, you'd certainly envision a world where they let Santander walk as a FA and they would non-tender Mountcastle and Mullins. They had so many great young prospects who were ready to contribute that there was no point in overpaying those 3. That still might be the right approach, but it's not as certain as it once was.
  9. I'm just saying it's a big step down from where he was the last 2 years. The O's are currently built more like the Royals than the Yanks/Dodgers. It's Gunner as a superstar and then a bunch of solid guys after that.
  10. It does seem common for catchers to struggle offensively when they first arrive at the ML level. They tend to focus/prioritize the defensive development first, the bat follows. But that isn't as typical for 1st ballot HOF catchers like Adley is.
  11. It is a crapshoot - the very BEST teams in baseball are only 60/40 favourites to win a series. It's more like a 55/45 split for good teams. But momentum is real. What happened to Adley this year? Quite a drop off. His BB%, ISO, BsR and Def have all dropped for a 3rd straight year. Statcast page has cooled right off.
  12. How about them Pack? Willis has played incredible!
  13. I was thinking that, but for me, Sale gets that monkey off his back, with Wheeler a close second.
  14. Has Skenes entered the convo for NL ROY? 131 IP, 1.99 ERA and 4.2 WAR Could we see a co-ROY this year with Skenes and Jackson Merrill?
  15. A new member of the tinfoil hats!
  16. It's just so incredibly special to what this type of history unfold. This is the type of night my 9 year old will probably remember for the rest of his life. I hope one day he tells his kids how he remembers the day Ohtani went 50/50 with a 6-6 night. He's literally going nuts right now at home in amazement.
  17. Ohtani raised his wRC+ from 165 to 172 tonight. That is an insane change at this point in the season.
  18. Fast food restaurants figured it out years ago. They no longer have to be fast and cheap - they just have to be fast. Most people don't have an hour to sit in Kelsey's to order a burger and fries. Most are far too busy for that (I know I certainly am). My "go to" is a local mexican place that has incredible fresh, homemade food and they can slap together a killer burrito for me in like 1 minute. Fast, healthier, delicious and supporting a local business.
  19. Ohtani goes 6-6 with 3 HRs, 10 RBIs and 2 SBs to reach 50/50. It's hard to fathom how incredible that is.
  20. booya. He already has the 50 SBs. He's got to do this. What a historic season.
  21. Nice to see Swanson finishing the season strong.
  22. I have no interest in watching the Twins in the playoffs. I guess give me KC, as it would be good for baseball to have Bobby Witt in the playoffs - although I'm not very interested in seeing Minny, Detroit or KC in the playoffs if I'm being honest. It would also be hilarious if Baltimore fell out of the playoffs (not that I expect that to happen).
  23. You don't do ANY research.
  24. Bryce Young benched. What a disaster in Carolina. Jordan Love back at practice already? Unreal.
  25. I'd expect that if he's unable to do the same workouts he did when healthy, that he'd have to change his dietary habits to reduce the caloric intake to offset the lack of physical activity. Habits can be hard to change - especially in a lost season where he's only returning to play meaningless games. If this is a flag, it's like one of those little miniature flags they put on top of cupcakes.
