  1. It will 100% be Schneider going down. I’ll be shocked if it’s anything other than that.
  2. If the Angels FO was running the Jays, then Arjun would have started in place of Bichette the past 2 weeks. Probably would have done better than DeJong.
  3. Springer is also pulling the ball a lot less this season. Not sure why him and Chapman specifically have changed so much over 2022. They are vetrins so I doubt the Jays coaching staff suddenly wanted to tinker with them.
  4. This competitive window was predicated on Vlad being a superstar so if he’s a 0-2 WAR player instead, then Atkins is kind of f***ed. It’s actually a testament to how good his recent short term MLB moves have been that they are this good despite Vlad being a 0 WAR player. Either way if the Jays miss the playoffs, then ultimately it’s the front office and/or coaching staff that will take the fall for Vlad not living up to expectations.
  5. Yeah if the Jays miss the playoffs, which let’s face it is a very real possibility with Seattle right there, then John Schneider should be one of many on the hot seat, including Atkins. My guess is they’d keep Atkins and Schneider while making Guillermo/Hudgens the fall guys but who knows. Missing the playoffs while being a tax team for the first time can’t sit well with Rogers.
  6. If Espinal and DeJong bat in the 9th, then John Schneider can f*** the hell off.
  7. “Let’s get both the 70 wRC+ bat and the guy with a -1.0 WAR in 2 weeks into the lineup tonight because of defense”. You deserve that (John) Schneider.
  8. DeJong is going to have a -1.0 WAR as a Jay by the time Bichette is back.
  9. What a shift. Gibby put Juan Francisco at 3B because he said f*** it and just put the best bat available there, while the Jays now will put 70 wRC+ players on the field just to improve the defense. I guess with the way the Jays are built, they value the run prevention more.
  10. I think the minimum Ohtani gets is 12/600. It might end up being more than that if the big market teams start bidding the price up (Cohen specifically). I'd be shocked if he's not on the Dodgers next season. He gets to stay in LA where he's presumably comfortable and be on a consistently great team. It's the ideal scenario.
  11. Schneider should be playing over Espinal/DeJong (whoever is not playing SS).
  12. If they had a bit more HR power in the lineup I would agree. I just can't see this "need 4 singles to score 1 run" style working against better pitching unless they get 2015 Royals type of BABIP luck. It goes without saying, but this team desperately needs Vlad to be 2021 Vlad, even if it's for 2 months. He changes everything.
  13. Pitching and defense yes. Offense no.
  14. And there’s still Green and Richards on the way. If this team had any HR power they’d actually be built pretty nicely for the playoffs.
  15. Lukes instead of Davis. Yeah we know who is getting sent down when Bo gets back.
  16. Schneider taking a dominating starter out of a game at 84 pitches followed by Vlad hitting into a DP. Watching this s*** is hard sometimes.
  17. The fact that Kikuchi is at 65 pitches through 5 great innings and I'm wondering how much longer Schneider sticks with him is sad.
  18. The bench at some point is going to be Biggio, Espinal, and DeJong when Bo and KK come back, and that's terrifying. At least Biggio is hitting a bit so he's a useful bench piece depending on the matchup, but having both Espinal/DeJong makes no sense and you know they'll be pinch hitting against LHP late in games. Hopefully common sense prevails and they demote Espinal, but he's technically a vetrin now so probably not.
  19. I was looking up Cavan's numbers this season, and found this to be a combination of funny and extremely sad. Since May 1: Biggio: 0.5 WAR, 120 wRC+, 153 PA Vlad: -0.3 WAR, 104 wRC+, 380 PA
  20. Chapman sitting tonight, so we get the Espinal/DeJong 8/9 combo again. Wonderful. Not sure why they just don't take the defensive hit and play Schneider at 3B with DeJong sitting.
  21. Thank you KC!
  22. Mariners tie it in the 9th in the most predictable outcome of the night.
  23. The Orioles doing the Jays a favor this weekend.
  24. If what I’m seeing on social media about Wander Franco is true, then the Rays are going to be looking for a new SS.
