  1. Schneider taking a dominating starter out of a game at 84 pitches followed by Vlad hitting into a DP. Watching this s*** is hard sometimes.
  2. The fact that Kikuchi is at 65 pitches through 5 great innings and I'm wondering how much longer Schneider sticks with him is sad.
  3. The bench at some point is going to be Biggio, Espinal, and DeJong when Bo and KK come back, and that's terrifying. At least Biggio is hitting a bit so he's a useful bench piece depending on the matchup, but having both Espinal/DeJong makes no sense and you know they'll be pinch hitting against LHP late in games. Hopefully common sense prevails and they demote Espinal, but he's technically a vetrin now so probably not.
  4. I was looking up Cavan's numbers this season, and found this to be a combination of funny and extremely sad. Since May 1: Biggio: 0.5 WAR, 120 wRC+, 153 PA Vlad: -0.3 WAR, 104 wRC+, 380 PA
  5. Chapman sitting tonight, so we get the Espinal/DeJong 8/9 combo again. Wonderful. Not sure why they just don't take the defensive hit and play Schneider at 3B with DeJong sitting.
  6. Thank you KC!
  7. Mariners tie it in the 9th in the most predictable outcome of the night.
  8. The Orioles doing the Jays a favor this weekend.
  9. If what I’m seeing on social media about Wander Franco is true, then the Rays are going to be looking for a new SS.
  10. Springer being upset that a pitch right down the middle was called a strike is peak 2023 Blue Jays.
  11. Yeah the Braves are so well put together. AA inherited a lot going there but man has he put them in a great spot for a long run.
  12. Agreed. They play a boring brand of baseball, which is fine when they win, but unwatchable when they are struggling. Improving the defense came at a massive price, both in offensive production and entertainment value.
  13. Espinal is the only one that can save us from DeJong until Bo gets back so keep hitting.
  14. Francis facing a lineup for the 2nd time must be making Schneider’s head explode.
  15. I hope Term isn’t watching this game.
  16. Schneider hitting the ball in the air and actually having some clear the fence likely rubbed the coaching staff the wrong way. The home run jacket was removed for a reason, dammit.
  17. Still can’t believe they brought him back up instead of giving someone like Francis a chance to start some games. Hopefully he’s done for the rest of the season. If they need a SP just bring up RT and have him pitch 3 innings after an opener or something if he can’t be stretched out too long.
  18. It’s easy for the Jays. I’m just taking a shot at them for getting shut down by a washed Thor.
  19. 40% of the Mariners remaining schedule is against the Royals, A's, White Sox, and Mets. The Jays have one "easy" stretch from the 25th to September 10th, and I put easy in quotes because they just split with the Guardians and got shut down by the corpse of Noah Syndergaard so I'm not sure what is easy anymore. After that, they end the season with 4 against the Rangers and 15 against the AL East (Red Sox, Yankees, Rays). The Yankees and Red Sox might be done by then, so maybe they'll be easier to play against. I don't know. Could go either way. The M's offense might be just as bad as the Jays, and they have a good rotation and pen. They are scary similar. Probably flip a coin on this one.
  20. The Mariners also own the tiebreaker due to divisional record, so the Jays have to finish ahead of them while the Mariners just to have tie. I don’t like the Jays chances here. The offense is ass cheeks. The Mariners don’t look that much better on paper so it could go either way but the schedule and the tie breaker is a killer.
  21. Clase against Varsho, Vlad, and DeJong. Holy s***. At least there’s no threat of leaving runners on base.
  22. This station to station offense that can’t hit with RISP is a combination of frustrating and incredibly boring. Like there isn’t even a threat of a HR when anyone on the team comes up. Maybe that’s why they got rid of the HR jacket. It would have collected dust in the dugout.
  23. Manoah stinks and it was obvious that putting him back in the rotation so soon was a bad idea (I don’t care if he Houdini’s his way to a decent line every now and then), but the offense is clearly the bigger issue on this team.
  24. DeJong has a -0.6 WAR in 8 games. As bad as Espinal is, I’d probably take him over DeJong at this point, though “neither” would be the best answer. Hurry back Bo.
  25. Schneider gets off on using as many relievers as possible so this is not surprising. At least it worked this time.
