  1. Sign Bregman or Alonso, Scherzer and then trade a buffalo boy for a reliever. WC3 will be easy to make.
  2. Polanco was the Dodgers' big intl signing this period, right?
  3. Sign the Polar Bear too and let's sock some homers this year boys
  4. Yeah his K and BB are solid. But for a 44 homer guy you'd expect more BB% out of a low BA guy.
  5. Scott Mitchell is one of the few with any cred anymore
  6. 5/92 is 18.4 AAV. Add in the deferred money and it's even less. I know he sucks at literally everything else but for a switch hitter coming off a 44 homer season (3rd in MLB) I'll take it.
  7. This is 8 million less than what Ben Clemens predicted without factoring in the deferrals. This isn't that bad after all.
  8. 18.4 Mil AAV or somewhere around there isn't bad. Factor in his age and this is no worse than what Teoscar got.
  9. Tony Taters is going to be fun as hell the next couple years. Switch hitter that hit 44 bombs last year. Sign me up for that. The problem is there is no extra juice to his game. He provides no defense. No baserunning. Doesn't even provide OBP.
  10. He'll be entering his age 34 season when he can opt out. Idk what the AAV is but assuming it's 20-25 mil, a 34 year old DH is going to have to MASH for him to opt out or for us to want to pick up the 6th year.
  11. Will need to see the details on this. 5 year deal is scary but given this weird he can opt in but we can block it with a team option thing, perhaps the final years AAV isn't so bad.
  12. Another angle is that Straw's money is so insignificant Ross just didn't give a s***. It let him throw one last offer at the biggest surplus value FA in a generation and we'll go on to add to the payroll anyway.
  13. Yeah I'm trying to think of all the angles here too. Maybe Ross has some trades lined up for the Buffalo Boys and likes Straw enough as a 26th man?
  14. So I’ve read that there could be surprise entries to the Intl FA Pool. Who could that possibly be? Is there an example of a guy like that who ended up being good?
  15. Why did the Padres sign international free agents early yesterday? They must have gotten some indication that they were out. Why didn’t the Jays get that indication?
  16. The Dodgers are giving up nothing and getting a mil in international money. why did the Kays have to take on Straw’s bad contract? They must actually like Straw? That’s the only way any of this makes sense
  17. I don’t hate him for trying to for these deals and he’s done well to make it as far as he has in them but this last one was bad, we ended up with a bum contract he has enough to succeed. I think the organization would be rated higher in MLB compared to other orgs than Atkins would to other GMs. this is a top 10 job but he’s not a top 10 gm
  18. He’s the head of player personnel of this supposed piss poor organization which has given him a top 5 payroll and the best player development complex in MLB
  19. When Varsho comes back he can move to LF which after the past two seasons is now his more comfortable position anyway Straw can solidify the 2nd lead off spot in the lineup with his speed (and .270 OBP) while providing GG defense in CF We can just DFA Steward Berroa to make room for Straw on the 40 man The team GG award will be easy to make
  20. If true the Dodgers should be tarred and feather. We have Myles Straw now because of this.
  21. The Jays front office was not one of those teams lol
  22. The first time Atkins leaks something all winter is after the Sasaki/Straw debacle but I don't think Tony Taters is going to pacify the lynchmob
