  1. Yeah that would make sense but with Chapman and his hip issues maybe they want to give him the full day off every once in a while instead of a half day off. Kirk is going to need days off now too now that he is the primary C. So getting Chapman his day off in now before Kirk gets his is a decent way to stagger their days off. Also, the team wasn't planning on Teoscar getting hurt last night and if that didn't happen this lineup would be looking much better. The only real complaint I have with everything is Tilapia batting 5th over Biggio. I like splitting the lefties up so I'd put one of them in there ahead of Kirk so the lefties can go 5-7-9 but I would have chosen Biggio over Tilapia. So all that said, is switching 7 and 5 all that big of a deal? Not really so I don't have too much to complain about tbh.
  2. Surely they don't plan on using him over what we've got. Maybe if Tilapia flops (get it!?) but otherwise there is no need for Fowler's old ass.
  3. I hope they DH Springer once a week all season long.
  4. True that and we aren't even that much of an underdog to boot. We've got some regulars out and it's a road game but I think we have the better pitcher on the mound. Yankees are -140 tonight. Last night they were -165 and lost.
  5. Well 2 guys got hurt and then 1 guy has an off day. This is what happens when 3 regulars are out, the latter half of the lineup looks like s***. I think this basically confirms that the team is really down on Biggio though. I get if he's not in the lineup over Tilapia for defensive purposes, but when both are in the lineup at the same time and Tilapia is still hitting higher than him? Pretty much confirms that Biggio is buried on the pecking order.
  6. I think we play 30 games in the first 31 days or something like that. Going to have to rest some of these guys.
  7. Not sure. I assume just a day of rest. Jays play a ton of games with just one off day to start the season and he's had some nagging injuries over the years.
  8. Yeah the lineup was going to be ugly no matter what with no Hernandez and Chapman sitting out but Tilapia batting 5th makes it look even worse. At least Heinamen isn't playing.
  9. You two need to cool it. I have no qualms with either of you but I'm the sheriff of this board and if you want to continue posting here in peace I suggest you stay out of it. Final warning!
  10. All I've said over the past week is that maybe Greg Bird isn't very good (true), Raimel Tilapia has a weak arm (true), and that maybe, just maybe, Ross Stripling isn't going to ruin Jackie Robinson Day after all (he'll probably get shelled but it has nothing to do with Jackie Robinson). If that's considered trolling then everyone go ahead and put me on ignore! We all know you'll be back, my posts are grade A entertainment and I don't even charge for them!
  11. I was pretty outraged at the thought of AAA fodder like Ross Stripling starting on Jackie Robinson Day. What an abomination. The guy is total crap, the Jays would have to be racists to do something like that. I think I even heard that Stripling was a January 6th insurrectionist. I almost canceled my MLB.tv package and deleted my account when I heard he was taking the hill. That said, think about who we are playing and it will start to make more sense. The Oakland A's bat the great Tony Kemp at leadoff. Mr. Kemp is an African-American gentleman and I can think of no better way to honor Jackie Robinson than by having Ross Stripling pump 88 mph fastballs down the can for Tony Kemp. He's only good for about 8 homers a year but if he's going to hit one on Jackie Robinson Day it's definitely going to be against a gas can like Ross Stripling. Classy move by the Jays IMO.
  12. Same. I think he might be really really good. His sinker is a worm killer and his slider is basically the opposite in that it induces a lot of weak contact high in the air. Then you've got his 87 mph fastball which is his put away pitch lol.
  13. Sadly I think the creators of the website died in an apartment fire as the sheer number of "Buck's Blunder's" overloaded their makeshift server which exploded and caught fire.
  14. Grichuk was a negative asset. Even if Tilapia ends up sucking ass (and he probably will) we can just cut bait with him (get it!?) and we'll save money on Grichuk's deal which is about all we could have hope for in a trade involving him anyway.
  15. Yankees broadcasters are the worst. Huge homers but not in a cheerleader way, more like a whining and bitching way.
  16. Nice rip by Tilapia but unfortunately he's 6'3'' and 110 pounds so an oppo homer is out of the question.
  17. good grief that was either a foul tip or strike 3
  18. Probably going to DH a lot still. Plus he's fat.
