    This is the right answer! With hindsight you obviously take the WS win but building a contending team for a couple of seasons every decade isn't going to lead to WS wins very often. Sustainable contention is the way to go but that's not always going to lead to WS wins either. But that doesn't mean anyone should model themselves after the Marlins or Royals lol

    Give me the WS. On the years we suck, as a hardcore fan I can just fap to prospects or something. But the goal is sustainable contention and WS wins.

    Ramirez will be a tough get. The Indians are cheap but they aren't holding a fire sale. Unless they get their socks knocked off they have no reason to move him. That said, it does seems like the market has shifted a little bit. It doesn't necessarily take massive prospect hauls with top-rated headliners to get guys with 2 years of control left like a lot here in think. Kirk, Pearson, Biggio and Gurriel is a pretty damn big package (much better than the one the Braves gave up to get Olson IMO) and one that the Indians would probably consider. And that wouldn't take Moreno or Martinez (though I would be open to moving either for J-Ram).

    Rizzo is fine but you’d expect the Yankees to be able to do better than him. They needed a big move and instead they are plugging a hole with a mid tier FA.

    Braves so cheap that not only can they not afford to bring back their own legends but they can't even hire a graphic design team to change the uniforms of their FA signings.

    Yeah all joking aside I tend to agree. Schwarber might be closer to 4 for 80 though but your point still stands.

    Trade for Ramirez AFTER you sign Freeman you idiots. That way they will be none the wiser and after we win back-to-back WS I think everyone will be just fine with DHing once in a while.

    Yeah I'm all for shoving the chips into the table. This team is loaded and I'd be tempted to stack it further. But it might be prudent to wait until the trade deadline at least. Team could get hit with injuries and what appeared to be strengths might need to be fixed at the deadline.
