When nothing's going right you hit 385 foot outs. Kid needs some confidence. Sending him down to get some at bats and make some mechanical adjustments might be the way to go. He has to mak some changes. Take away the bat waggle. Try something different.
It's just because AA left. The reality is AA went to the Dodgers and became a better executive and GM. He was a decent executive that became a really good executive. Atkins is a solid GM that works well with Shapiro. It worked out fine for both parties, but some can't let it go.
Cimber isn't going down anyways. It's been 10 innings. He's giving up 3 homers. Homers come in bunches and he could go 10 without giving one up. He's a change of pace guy. He's got a 1.2 WHIP and batters are batting .211 off him.
Having a reliever ready and putting one in are 2 different things. He could have easily put Manoah out there and pulled him after the first baserunner reached him if he was using kid gloves with Manoah, which he shouldn't. We were up by 2.
Baseball is a game of confidence. The good news is we're 11-7. If we were 6-12 the pitches would be really gripping the ball tightly. There's been a bit of bad luck thrown in too for the guys. Of all the guys Manoah is probably the one I'm the most worried about, just because the expectations for him were quite high. Hopefully his next start he can limit the walks.
