  1. Agree, I actually think he should be starting, not sure how you guys and the rest of the board feels about him. I mean it's sink or swim time for McGowan so it's ok to give him a look but ultimately Redmond is a safer choice.
  2. I don't like that plan but it sounds like a possibility. I'd rather see Happ cut, and if not then Rogers. Redmond's useful enough.
  3. I agree he's a bit off. I still think he looks dangerous in the box, the two strike approach will improve. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that it's really clear to me he has the skills to be a great hitter, even if he's not locked in yet. Talk to me at the end of May when he's hitting line drives from foul line to foul line.
  4. He stance looks a lot better, and he seems more patient like when he first came up. I think if he stays healthy he'll be a big part of the Jays offence.
  5. The results aren't there. In general I think his approach has been improved. Yeah he's had trouble hitting the ball with any authority, but I don't think that's a cause for concern. Looking great is definitely a bit of a stretch for me to say, but I'm trying to defend the guy. He has looked good despite his poor results so far IMO.
  6. Not worried about Lawrie he actually looks great at the plate IMO. Rasmus will always be a pull happy streaky hitter, so he's prone to long cold streaks.
  7. Hey JPA looked bad tonight so let's acknowledge that.
  8. How would they be taking 2 steps forward in 2014? Syndergaard hasn't come up yet, d'Arnaud might be made of glass and hasn't proven anything, Hech didn't show anything with the bat last year, Alvarez still can't K anyone. They also seem to have trouble signing FA's, so I don't know if they'd be competing this year or next regardless of what they did. I'm not supporting all the moves but the reality is all of the players they traded could still be unimpressive players.
  9. I completely agree. He was terrible here and is clearly a bad hitter. I heard one time Howie Clark was the best hitter on the Jays, why didn't they sign him to a long term deal?
  10. Nice pitching matchup in Cincy.
  11. Justin Smoak early MVP candidate.
  12. It was a thread that got started so I posted. We don't need hours of debate discussing if Nunez is better than Goins.
  13. Good point. The one thing about those guys that I love is they go out there and pitch every fifth day. It's not their fault they're called on to lead a rotation to a division championship. Still very useful SP's to have.
  14. Honestly let's just agree to disagree because this is a stupid topic. I like Nunez more than the other scrubs they are rostering, offensively he has much more potential than any of those guys and he has some defensive tools that might suggest he could improve. If you like Goins better then good for you, they're both bad players and not worth discussing.
  15. Not sure about Sierra but I like giving Lawrie a shot to hit leadoff. His approach seems much improved this year albeit in just two games. Let's see what he can do while Reyes is out IMO.
  16. Cause he has more potential than our other -WAR players?
  17. I actually think he'd be a good guy to take a chance on. He does have more potential than the other middle infielders. Give him a shot and if he looks bad I doubt he's much worse than what they have.
  18. I am lost for words that you're still defending the front office.
  19. They really have no choice but to sign Drew IMO. It would be really irresponsible if they roll with Izturis/Goins especially considering Lawrie is also an injury risk. I really don't understand it. You spend a bunch of money then all of a sudden a few million to significantly improve the team becomes not available either because of Rogers or AA's context neutral assessment of players?
