  1. It's funny. Even Joe Saunders would be a welcome addition to add depth. I can't believe I'm saying that.
  2. That's a fair point you have to look at who he's replacing... in this case it's Sierra who probably shouldn't be in the majors.
  3. Yeah that's a lot for a 4th outfielder. It does go to show that he was a very useful player though. Defensively he was pretty underrated around here. But the reality the Jays are facing now is that not only do they not have a 4th OFer but they don't have any depth. Their offence looks nice if everyone stays healthy, but they literally have nobody who can step into an everyday role if someone gets hurt.
  4. +1 for that. Davis brought a lot to the table for a bench player. I think they're going to miss him this year. Sierra is not a good 4th OF option and Gose hasn't shown a whole lot IMO.
  5. A lot of these posts ignored my question in a way. Sure if a guy is playing well it doesn't matter. I'm talking if they are equal, so two equal players one like Wells and one like Bautista. Personally I'd rather a guy like Bautista from an entertainment standpoint, not sure I'd like him when he complains about borderline strikes but it would still be interesting.
  6. So it's pretty clear everyone dislikes Bautista now because he is whiny and egotistical. He is however a very intense competitor and there's no doubt that he wants to win ball games. Vernon Wells on the other hand got a lot of haters because he wasn't a "true leader", wouldn't act very interested in the ballgame at times and had a bit more fun in the dugout, although they both like to joke around. Vernon was however a far more humble guy to the media and didn't argue about balls and strikes every second day. He went out there and tried to lead by performance even though he was sometimes pretty bad. My question is, what's more annoying as your best player? If both players are equal, do you want Bautista or Wells leading your team? Ya Halladay was the true leader especially of the pitching staff, so it's a hypothetical question.
  7. Ok so why do the O's have more holes? You think there's less pressure on the team? How about AA getting fired if they don't make the playoffs? I'd say that's a likely scenario.
  8. Ya haha. There is plenty of pressure on them this year. You can give them a mulligan for one bad season, but you can't give them two passes.
  9. You're just always extremely optimistic. While I like that, it's hard to take it seriously.
  10. I still think they are better than any team in the East.
  11. That's a good point. I did say a little weaker, so I didn't mean it was a weak division... just not at the level where the top 2 teams were considered the class of the AL. Texas and Detroit are probably still better than anyone in the AL. I would say that for sure the East is the deepest division in all of baseball.
  12. Ya they're terrible, a pick'em is considered 1.87. You always get bad odds on these futures, maybe other sites are better for this. But I think the Yankees should be pretty good, under on Boston seems like the best pick and under on Tampa would be 2nd for me. Baltimore should be above .500, not that I think they are very good. Hey it's weird, for a lot of years we considered the Jays pretty good but in the best division, and now the division is a little weaker and so are the Jays. Too bad.
  13. Actually the Boston under looks good too, maybe I'm just biased.
  14. These are the decimal odds I'm getting on my betting site. Baltimore Orioles Over 81.5 1.91 Under 81.5 1.83 Boston Red Sox Over 88 1.95 Under 88 1.80 New York Yankees Over 87 2.00 Under 87 1.77 Tampa Bay Rays Over 88 1.87 Under 88 1.87 Toronto Blue Jays Over 79.5 1.74 Under 79.5 2.05 Not sure about you guys, but Tampa at under 88 seems like the best best.
  15. It would have been nice to see Jeter win in his final season, but then again who cares?
  16. I remember seeing him pitch against Darvish two years ago and I thought he looked great (as did Darvish of course). The ability is there, but these kinds of pitchers are the most annoying to watch. If he just threw the ball over the plate more often he'd be a good ML calibre pitcher. Maybe he could turn into a good late inning bullpen arm?
  17. Also it's are not a, stupid HP laptop with a terrible keyboard.
  18. Zaun was saying Posey chose to be a catcher, if the Giants can't live without his bat they should move him to a different position. Being a catcher and blocking the plate is a good way to contribute when you're not hitting well. He has a point. It's been around forever and now they want to change it? He claims that if Josh Thole or Jose Molina got hurt and not Posey, they wouldn't even have changed the rule.
  19. Ya it's really the whole thing. They didn't get any pitchers. The best case scenario is they get Morrow/Dickey to be good and then have 3 serviceable pitchers. That's really the ceiling at this point. The Red Sox were supposed to be bad, but I didn't think so. They at least made some mediocre-good signings to patch some holes, can't say that for the Jays.
  20. Their offence should be fun to watch, I might find myself changing the channel when their pitchers come out though.
  21. I'd still like them to sign Santana, they have just about no depth. Hutchison will get his chance.
  22. It's pretty embarrassing for them. Not much more to say.
  23. Haha but seriously that seems to be what they're heading towards... they'll get a couple scrap heap guys and hope that one of them works out.
  24. That's ok, Joe Saunders is still available.
  25. She looks too much like Jose for me around her eyes. Pass.
