  1. The problem with any type of Snider/Melky comparison is that it's tough to know how Snider would have developed in this organization. After seeing what Lind has been able to do so far this season, I'd like to think that Snider could have similar success, but you never know. Such a shame that they couldn't have given the Fred Lewis, Corey Patterson, Eric Thames and Juan Rivera ABs to Snider.
  2. He missed some games around this time last year as well. He's getting a haircut. Should be another week or so.
  3. Man, it seems every time I'm just about ready to officially hate this team, they do something like this.
  4. Excerpts from Kawasaki's transalation book: http://blogs.thescore.com/djf/2013/05/28/3-pages-from-munenori-kawasakis-now-gatorade-drenched-translation-book/
  5. The best thing about Lind's season is that it makes it less likely that we give up anything of value to acquire a guy like Morneau.
  6. As much fun as his personality has been, I think once can make a legitimage baseball decision to keep Kawasaki. Currently getting on base about 100 points higher than either Boni or Izturis and can play short. I don't think anybody is pretending that Kawasaki is more than he is, just that he's been a bigger contributor to this team than his MIF competition.
  7. My initial thought would be to try and trade Boni to an NL team for....something. Kawasaki, just by his ability to play short, is more valuable than any of Boni, Izturis and DeRosa. Pretty much guaranteed though that this club will keep the less valuable players. #LoViste #3YearDeal #PromisesMade
  8. Yeah, I'm not too concerned if he gets claimed.
  9. What happens to him after Reyes comes back? I sure hope we don't dump him to keep Boni around.
  10. It will be pretty cool to tell my grandkids that I saw the Thad Weber era from the beginning.
  11. Well, it seems like the only repeatable skill this org has is to have prospects turn to crap once they're traded. Fingers crossed!
  12. Back and neck I think. I'm pretty okay with having Dickey over the next few years. Based on his comments, I wonder if he will adjust his pre-game a bit to get the feel of the knuckleball sooner.
  13. Didn't see the second inning, but his first inning looked pretty good. Got ahead against all batters, and Machado and Hardy went down and got some good pitches. Obviously tough to know now, but I wonder if he could have gotten out of the first inning unscathed, how that would have changed his game.
  14. Really need Johnson to come back and be the 1A kind of guy we were hoping to get.
  15. Originally I think he was just being pushed back a couple of days... By Blue Jay standards though, this is a lightening fast return to action.
  16. Oooh, I think that play does it for me for the night.
  17. How can a guy that let's that pitch go have only two walks?
