  1. Agreed. I never understood why the Jays got rid of Valencia. He was a very useful player especially if Donaldson got hurt.
  2. Agreed. They should keep Pillar.
  3. This is good news. I agree that they are unlikely to get back good talent for them. Keep them & make one final push for a playoff spot in 2016. I hope Rogers doesn't trade them as an excuse to cut payroll.
  4. That makes sense. The new GM would be in a better position to rebuild the team. Bautista & EE may prefer to sign long term contracts with other franchises.
  5. Agreed. He seemed to always throw too many pitches to get through the 5th inning but he got better in 2014
  6. Unfortunately, I think the new GM will probably have a mandate to cut payroll, so EEE or Bautista could be traded for younger players. The new GM would not eb under pressure to win immediately so we could be stuck with another rebuild.
  7. Very true. I did not like this trade from day 1. There were reports that the Jays had to pay part or all of the difference in salaries.
  8. I am happy that Delabar is back. I am surprised that Castro was demoted.
  9. I disagree. They need to be resigned to extensions. We can't replace their offense with prospects.
  10. I think the Blue Jays will win 87 games this year.
  11. I think the Red Sox & Orioles should win at least 85 games. The Al East should be close this year.
  12. That's a good point. I wonder if AA set aside a small reserve of funds to be used at the trade deadline. They have spent less than last year.
  13. I think that 85 wins is a reasonable estimate at this point of the season. I wonder if Rogers will let AA make any upgrades at the trade deadline to help them compete for a wildcard spot.
  14. Jason Frasor met his wife Laura, while she was part of Jays force. http://www.standard-freeholder.com/2010/10/01/frasor-finds-love-at-the-ballpark-10
  15. I agree. I can't see the Jays signing any of the top tier free agents. AA prefers trades & special situations. Melky was the biggest signing of AA's career , but he had PED issues back then. At best, the Jays get Melky back. I do think someone in the Jays PR department thought it would help ticket sales & buzz to have the Jays linked to all the top free agents. It doesn't cost the team anything & keeps the Jays in the news during the offseason.
