  1. Sadly, the way things have gone, I'm okay with this.
  2. Unlikely. Utley actually fills a positional requirement for us. I think a redundant, past-his-prime Justin Morneau is a more likely target. #canada
  3. Is spelling "Thingg" with two "g"s a hip new thing that I'm too old to understand, or just a rage-induced typo? I'd like to know so as to stay relevant with my kidds.
  4. I like Olerud_363's idea of stretching out Loup/Lincoln, or Jenkins if he's able to handle the workload. It would be nice to have someone that holds even the teensiest amount of upside. I find tossing guys out there that were running on fumes years ago to be very irritating.
  5. What??? Holy smokes. This is insane.
  6. I don't mind the idea of stretching out Loup, especially with Cecil and Oliver still available as LHRP. I would certainly have more confidence in this as opposed to the revolving door of AAA question marks.
  7. What a roller coaster. This team needs MB to step up big time.
  8. A lot of the names mentioned don't really follow the spirit of the collapse we're talking about. I can understand players that fall apart due to age, injury, etc. In Ricky's case, it's a guy presumably in his prime who just loses it, unless there's more to the injury side of things than we've been led to believe. I can't believe that's the case though, since the organization has a good track record or being 100% transparent and honest when it comes to disclosing injury matters. As a Jays fan, Romero's collapse is so disappointing. Still, part of me is fascinated watching things like this happen; Ankiel, Knoblauch with his fielding, etc.
  9. Wow. How can you possibly miss that?
  10. I'd probably take a look at Jenkins after seeing how his next start goes.
  11. ??? I didn't think the Jays asked for medical reports on pitchers...Sirotka, Santos, JJ...#kidding #sortof
  12. Tough finish to Doc's career, regardless if he's able to pitch again.
  13. Ugh, just tuned in. Can't be good that Gonzalez is in already. Injury to Romero, or just suckage?
  14. This is crazy town.
  15. I agree with this. These guys have played this game their whole life and a lot of their actions are based on pure instinct. I'm sure some players probably feel bad after the fact that they kept running, but in the heat of the moment, I can see how their brain wouldn't be able to process the injury faster than ahead of their instincts kicking in.
  16. Sometimes a douchebag is not misunderstood, they're just douchebags.
  17. A productive Lind is a big help to this lineup, as starter against righties and as a viable pinch hitter late in the game when a lefty starts.
  18. The first problem with this is we'd have to clear a spot on the 40 man roster for Bush (I think). The second problem is that we would then have to watch Dave Bush pitch.
  19. Obviously their bullpen is the big wildcard now that a couple of guys have gone down. Will be interesting to see how the next 10-20 games for them.
  20. Especially now that we're short on starters.
  21. I think Jenkins had a start recently, but I'm not sure he's anywhere ready to make a spot start.
  22. Also made a nice catch on Zobrist tonight when it wad already 4-1. Could have been a much different outcome had he not made that.
  23. Hopefully a month off will allow JJ get to the point where he could be our best pitcher. My gut tells me that won't happen, but fingers crossed.
