  1. Haven't seen much of the game, but it looks like Dickey is dealing, albeit with a high pitch count.
  2. Which means he probably died last Tuesday.
  3. Different strokes I guess. I find the start screen way more useful than the start button. In any event, I'm going to create a technology thread in the OT section. This is starting to feel like a highjack.
  4. I must be the only one who really likes Windows 8.
  5. Yeah, something tells me they're going to give Ortiz the starts over Jenkins. #oldguys
  6. I don't think Lawrie has looked great at the plate, but I do remember a few bullets hit right at guys. Hopefully that will even out a bit more.
  7. Just mentioned this in the egregious thread. Couldn't believe the one AB where he kept fouling off the outside pitch. Of course Buck kept mentioning how he was "battling" Dempster. More accurately, he was "bailing him out".
  8. JPA was pretty terrible today. His first two ABs they were trying so hard to walk him and he kept bailing them out. Really need to move him out of the cleanup spot.
  9. Gardening, kite flying, model airplanes. Personally, I'm now going all-in on my lawn this summer (and I'm staying away from any JPA-endorsed fertilizers).
  10. I think this is what got us into trouble in the first place. I can picture AA and Beeston with cigars and brandy, giggling, getting ready to crank call the Marlins, and then waking up with a multi-player deal on their hands.
  11. This is my hope as well. I think there are enough pieces here to do a re-tool rather than a tear down, but only if AA acknowledges our predicament. I don't think pretending we're still in it makes any sense from a roster perspective. I'm sure stranger things have happened and there's a miniscule chance we could still get to the playoffs, but I certainly wouldn't try to force the issue at this point.
  12. I would find it very interesting if this ended up being the thing that allowed McGowan to get back to the majors and contribute.
  13. I'm fine with AA not trading with Friedman.
  14. Lingering effect from the old board. I think people are so afraid of what happened there happening here, that they're willing to jump on anything critical as being potential trolling.
  15. Really think it's difficult to blame Reyes on this one, seems more like a split-second decision that went poorly. Assuming he did have the wherewithal to contemplate his decision, perhaps he was thinking that going in standing up was the best way to avoid injury, and then realized he wasn't going to make it. Kind of like pitchers trying to barehand a comebacker; they likely don't think it's a good idea, but instinct kicks in.
  16. Well, he's certainly no Ramon Ortiz. #fabfour
  17. This is what is baffling to me. You'd think the planets would align at some point and allow us a dominant pitching performance.
  18. To me, I could see anyone making the deal as part of an all-in move. The more dubious decision may have been to go all-in in the first place.
  19. Good org decision. You only move to a four-man rotation when you've got a guy like Ramon Ortiz to work with. Don't see how this can possibly not work out.
  20. I'm still pulling hard for Romero to regain...something, but this seems farther away than "finishing touches".
  21. Tough to blame AA on this one, he probably thought he was getting 21-game winner Russ Ortiz, who we may still see this season.
