You definitely trade Bautista or Edwin before Donaldson. Even if this year is a lost year, you try to slap a 6-year extension + options on Donaldson and build around him. He's a franchise player.
The Yankees have received a combined -0.7 fWAR from 2B, 3B, and SS. Maybe the 2B who put up a 160 wRC+ in AA and now has a 135 wRC+ in AAA over almost 500 PA could be of service? Nah, too young.

Because it isn't always better to have more information. Confounding years of reliable major league data with first-hand scouting reports isn't necessary most of the time, and could be harmful if the guys acting on the information overestimate the relative value of scouting vs. major league data. Scouts are charlatans.
