  1. Anyone criticizing the Happ trade can do it only with the benefit of hindsight. It's easy to s*** on Saunders now that he's hurt, but if he doesn't tear his knee he's holding down the fort in a corner sparing us from the revolving door of replacement level crap we've seen in the OF. It was also two years of Saunders for one year of Happ, which is huge.
  2. Opposite. Green Monster is the best doubles park in the league for RH hitters. Lot's of flyouts turn into doubles.
  3. Probably a big part of the reason for the low O-swing%. The fast knuckler generated a ton of swinging strikes. Right now he really only has that mid-high 70s knuckler, and his fastball velo keeps moving closer and closer to it. He might be finished.
  4. Dickey's O-Swing%: 2012 - 33.4 2013 - 28.1 2014 - 27.3 2015 - 24.1 Fastball Velo: 2012 - 83.0 2013 - 81.6 2014 - 81.5 2015 - 80.7
  5. Thanks. Very happy to not see your team again this year. And yeah, I was pretty confused when I saw that you dropped Kendrick for Chaffin last night until I saw that his start was bumped.
  6. Just a friendly heads-up to everyone that North dropped Ryan Madson to stream. I'd prefer North not claim him at 3:00 AM when he's off waivers.
  7. I wish the dumnass who had my "Castro might be good some day, but isn't right now" post in his sig didn't get banned. I liked reading the forum and seeing a wise post quoted.
  8. You ready for a MC showdown next week spanky?
  9. We all know that if his ERA was in the vicinity of his xFIP this thread wouldn't exist. And he'd be in AAA.
  10. Yeah. Pederson in over Zimmerman over the first 5 weeks probably gives torontofan multiple wins.
  11. Justin Turner is kind of awesome. The Dodgers really should start playing him every day.
  12. Hey North, I wrote you a new yahoo team slogan: Losing streak: 1 matchup
  13. I don't think I'd like it. I like the game within the game of trying to steal strikes.
  14. Or Jarred Cosart with no control.
  15. Yeah, maybe. I've been looking all year for one of those to plug in as a starter. Haven't found one yet.
  16. No. A lot of teams have replacement-level pitchers at the back of their rotation at various points in the year. That doesn't mean good teams embrace replacement-level production and run with it. That isn't how you win. The goal is to not be replacement-level anywhere. You don't just accept a terrible arm because 'eh, he's the 5th starter'.
  17. He should be very good for you until he gets hurt.
  18. Yeah. I'm a lot more comfortable with my waiver adds like Gee, and Whitley than I would be running Dickey out there.
  19. I hadn't really looked at his numbers before today. Holy f*** has he ever been bad. 4.5 K/9 and 3.8 BB/9.
  20. Sanchez has been every bit as bad as 2012 Romero. The only difference is a bit of ERA luck over a small sample.
  21. Mark Buehrle has a 15-year track record of being a reliable above-average major league starter. Aaron Sanchez has sucked since turning pro.
  22. It would be very upsetting for all of us if Pomeranz were looking dominant.
  23. Yikes. TB is paying for years of amazing pitching health.
