Yup. The single best thing this FO has done was resist the temptation to try extending the window by locking up the old core. Price is worth nowhere near the money he makes. Bautista is completely cooked. Donaldson is almost cooked. Edwin is still mashing, but it’s still a 2-win DH profile. On the aggregate, walking away from all of those guys and clearing the books was the right move.

A bunch of posts in the Sawchik thread talk about Bauer bullying women online. Bauer is definitely an *******, so I don't have a problem believing that he's been an ******* to women and men on the internet. I'm not sure why a) anyone gives a f***, or why people seem much more angry about him being mean to women.

This is a game being played between two of the three worst teams in baseball, and most of the innings will go to David Hess and Edwin Jackson. For those reasons, I am out.

I feel like potentially interested teams aren’t going to ignore a DL stint for elbow inflammation that ended 6 weeks (at best) before the deadline. Negotiations have likely already been happening for weeks.

Hunter Pence has a 135 wRC+ and looks like he could go 30/100/100. When is the last time a hitter his age had a monster season out of nowhere like that? I can't think of a similar case.
