I think what makes the season so demoralizing is that we were all optimistic that this season would be the first step in the transformation into a perpetually competitive club. We knew we'd lose more than we'd win, but we thought we'd be respectable, watch the young guys develop into MLB players, and enter the offseason as a team on the rise with serious $$$ to spend for big-time additions. It's now late June, and we're on track to lose 100 game, and so little has gone right that we don't even know if Ross Atkins is competent at his job.
It's like going on a date with 10/10 you met online and realizing her pictures were taken 100 pounds ago.
