Nightmare scenario for MLB and the owners as it nukes the payroll/parity argument when two low spending teams make it to the World Series.

Dodgers have still been in 8 of the last 11 NLCS, even if the Brewers somehow manage to beat them.  I'm sure everyone last year was rooting for a Brewers-Mariners matchup, but got another Dodgers championship.  I expect no different this year.

Yeah, while I don’t think the World Series matchup really changes anything as far we the CBA talks, it’s clear MLB has been using fan outrage to fuel their stance publicly. They’ve been paying for pro salary cap ads on MLB Network. A World Series matchup where the combined payroll of the two teams is 25 cents would hurt the owners from an optics standpoint. They’d be halting the game during a period of real momentum for the sport and wouldn’t have the Dodgers to use as the Boogeyman.

Owners clearly pulling for a Dodgers three peat. After 2025 I never want to see the Dodgers win again so hopefully it’s the Brewers year in the NL.

Yeah this is better said.

"Nightmare" and "nuke" is too strongly worded but it definitely hurts the optics of their argument and that would trickle down to the legions of bootlicking fans who are cheering for the owners in this scenario (and they are cheering for the owners because their team's owner is a cheapskate).

Wow.  Posting content from this organization and only a week after reconciliation day no less.  I literally have no words.

May as well get a replica SS uniform and go to parade around religious places in Israel too

Hoping Cleveland can pull this out. I very much want to see J-Ram win a WS with that team,

Is Williams still starting after closing Game 4?

I posted that just as I looked up and noticed he was on the mound, not sure

Really hoping the Guardians can pull it off tomorrow. Not that I'm necessarily a fan of their team, but should they make it to the ALCS then 3/4 of the remaining teams would see their first championship either EVER, or in ALMOST forever. I guess what I'm trying to say is, f*** the Dodgers.

I'd honestly be really happy for any of Cleveland, TB, or Milwaukee winning. So of course LA will probably win.

Definitely - Guardians & Brewers pls.  Cleveland's 77 year drought and Brewers have never won (44 years) would make for a happy ending either way.

Yeah I'd be fine with anyone still in the playoffs winning other than the Dodgers. The White Sox are technically a big market team but very small payroll so if the Brewers advance past the Dodgers, then we are guaranteed a small market/payroll World Series regardless of what happens on the AL side (the Sox pitching is on fumes so I doubt they even get past the Guardians, much less the Rays). I haven't looked it up but this many small market/payroll teams this late into the post season doesn't happen often. All we need is the Dodgers to F off.

A Rays/Guardians vs Brewers World Series would make everyone except FOX TV execs, MLB owners, and Los Angeles happy. That's the outcome we need.

I want the Brewers to get more attention, they've been playoff bound for probably 10 years and just don't have anything to show for it.  They are always overlooked.  Really hoping they get passed the Dodgers on the big stage and do what we couldn't.

I'm jonesing for a Rays/Brewers world series. It'd be exciting for me personally. And both would be in for their first title.

Also, f*** the Whitesox, their fans are insufferable on-line, and demand relevance, what a f***ing joke, get em' Guards.
Tampa's going to run a train on either of them, I'd rather the Guards.

It shouldn't, because just like anything with baseball, you don't look at small sample sizes to make decisions.

Unless Skubal dominates them again, yeah, you're probably right.

Yep, gonna get some mileage out of this one.
