Never thought I'd root for the Guardians to make the World Series, but here we are. Do the Rays even get a sellout tonight?

He twitched - ever so slightly (no idea how the ump saw that) - right before he disengaged from the rubber.  Not a balk IMO.  Hands can be anywhere as long as he disengages -

I'm pretty sure the hands have to disengage when you step off.  Am I wrong?  I guess I could look that up.

It’s the front knee breaking first before he steps off. It’s so subtle that it’s hard to see at first glance but if you watch for it it’s obvious

Yeah I saw a slow motion replay. He did.  Ever so slightly.

12-pitch walk for Bauers. That was an unbelievable PA. Brewers are going to have 5+ innings against the mediocre LA pen

Yamamoto done

Love it

Yup you’re right the hands do have to disengage after stepping off

It's wild to see Yamamoto out.  That guy has been absolute nails.  I obviously want the Dodgers to lose, but I love watching Yamamoto pitch.

Yeah surprising.

Jake Bauers made him throw a lot of pitches.

Nice to see Yelich with a big hit. Hope he bounces back next season.

Miller Park is a fun environment. They even tailgate before the games in the parking lot.

Went to watch two games during the 2018 NLCS in Milwaukee and they were playing the Dodgers as well. Game 1 saw Kershaw vs. Gio Gonzalez and then Game 2 was Ryu vs. Miley.

You are correct, but it's for the purposes of preventing a quick pitch: stepping off then quickly stepping back on and pitching.  In that case yes must drop arms.

There's commentary in the umpire bible/mlb umpire manual on this situation

  • MLB Umpire Interpretations & Jaksa/Roder (The PBUC / MLB Umpire Manual):

Professional umpire manuals (the Major League Baseball Umpire Manual and the Jaksa/Roder Rules of Professional Baseball) clarify the intent: the rule is strictly an anti-quick-pitch mechanism.

If a pitcher disengages while set, keeps their hands together, steps right back onto the rubber, and pitches immediately without resetting, they have bypassed the "come set" requirement and quick-pitched the batter. Therefore, dropping the hands to the sides is required to cleanly terminate the previous set position before engaging the rubber to pitch again. If the pitcher is throwing to a base, feinting a throw, or running toward a play, the hand-drop requirement does not apply.

It doesn't feel like Milwaukee is going to lose 4 of the next 5 games

Agreed, but also its the Dodgers so i’d never count them out
