I honestly wouldn't boo (or cheer) for Vlad, he's the face of the franchise whether you like it or not and booing isn't going to send a message.  He knows he's had a God awful year and probably felt the season was a write off a long time ago.  We also don't need him to spiral into deeper depression if we want a better outcome next year.

The first interview was bad, but it was made even worse by his follow-up interviews.

Now he's going to try again. Surely he's gotten some proper media coaching this time. Although, if he responds to media coaching the same way he responds to baseball coaching, he'll probably just ignore it and triple down on the original comments.

He says he is sorry, he has apologized to his teammates, he is going to work hard to make his contract a great one, and he talked to his dad who told him he needed to apologize, and the comments he made were "not really what he wanted to say"

Well said but it rings a little bit hollow when he said this in his first follow-up:

“I don’t regret it, because I wasn’t lying. Obviously there are fans who don’t get it, who aren’t in my shoes, and who don’t know what I meant. But honestly, I don’t regret anything I said.”

I guess the answer for why he changed his mind is because of the talking-to his dad gave him?

Will be interesting to see the fan reaction tonight.

I thought for sure he was destined for boos but his comments today were about as good as you could have hoped for but there's a chance they fall flat for the legions of casuals who are ready to tar and feather him Jays Centre style. We'll see.

Well the Jays PR team finally got ahold of him.  I think we all knew something like this would happen and he'd say all these things. 

I hope everyone realizes that he doesn't mean any of it and had to be told what to say to try and save face.  Embarrassing stuff.

It's too bad you can't organize some sort of walkout.  "Now batting, #27, Vladimir Guerrero Jr." and all the fans leave and go stand in the concourse until he's done grounding into a double play...

Then return and give Springer a standing ovation...
