Mad Max faces his original team for the first time since 2023. Should be a fun matchup... assuming the Blue Jays can actually put a few runs on the board. Taj Bradley is starting to finally look like the wunderkind who was once promised, but I'll take Mad Max in a rubber match any day. The injuries to the rotation have led us to here: a bullpen game. Both Lazaro Estrada and Spencer Miles are fresh for a piggyback appearance today. Yesterday was tough. Watching (nearly) every other team celebrate Opening Day while the Blue Jays sat at home genuinely felt like that one Spongebob meme with Squidward starting out his window. Luckily, Toronto will be the featured entree today. In their first regular season game since Game 7 of the Fall Classic, the rebuilt and retooled Jays will take on a middling A's team. And, at long last, Gausy will take his Opening Day start.
