About as close to must win as you can get without it being the actual mathematical necessity of lose and you're out.

Counting the tiebreakers, the Jays are 1 back of TEX, 2 back of CLE, and 3 back of CWS. Taking 2/3 in this series against TEX is pretty much a necessity to get a 1 game lead on them heading into the final week. Anything short of that and it's really done. Of course even that scenario won't guarantee gaining any ground on CLE/CWS as they have the A's and Tigers (can't believe the Jays went 2-4 against them this month).

Jays going 7-2, Guardians going 5-4, and Rangers going no better than 6-3 is the Jays best chance. I could actually see the latter two things happening, but Jays going 7-2 is the part I'm having trouble with. Yesavage replacing one of Spaghetti/Lorenzen as a bulk guy will certainly help their chances.
