Probably Springer? My guess is 

• Springer to the IL to clear a 26-man spot for Martin
• Taillon to the 60-day IL to clear a 40-man spot for Martin
• Martin becomes a sparingly used 26th man, is optioned or even DFA'd when Springer or Taters are back
• Keys is the primary DH
• Smith is your new LF against righties
• Sanchez hits the bench

I guess the other option is that they could be sick of Sanchez's crap and instead of a Springer IL stint they DFA Sanchez instead.

There's no reason for him to be getting any playing time right now. Can't field and he's been struggling with the bat for a while now. He's also goofy.

Straw, Keys, Smith, etc. all deserve PT over him. Martin can play the field and can run the bases so he may be better suited to be the 26th man over Sanchez.

Still think it's a Springer IL stint though.

The Orioles realistically have almost no chance given that they have to make up four games on the Guardians (they lost the tie breaker) with 15 games remaining without any more head-to-heads.

All they can really do is knock us out of it and giftwrap a spot to the Guardians.

But they still believe they have a chance, and they will play inspired baseball.

Sanchez was a nice dude. I feel kind of bad for him because you could see by the end that he had clearly gotten into his own head about his defense. But we're at the "do what must be done" point of the season. 

I can see him having a surprise season for some team that's willing to give him an everyday spot. The next Ty France.

The decision today makes sense.
