Lugo is the type of guy who can mystify us with his pitch mix.

Could be an embarrassing night for Vladdy. Hope i am wrong and we slap hit him to death.

These Scherzer starts are the dangerous ones. Need him to show a pulse moving forward. Looked like he might have been until the last game when Jesus Sanchez had other plans.

  • Scherzer vs. Lugo
  • Bieber vs. Dobnak
  • Spaghetti vs. Cameron

Don't love these pitching matchups but the Royals have both the worst road record and bullpen in baseball.

I demand patience from our hitters

I am tempted to say "and so are the Blue Jays" but it's not like Bieber has provided much benefit this year, on balance

Jays may need to have 2 bullpen day games until Taillon is back. Does this team have like 3 starters right now?

There should be something wrong with their training staffs.

Bieber's last 4 starts against Houston, Philly, Tampa, and the Yankees, he was 3-0 with a 2.96 ERA (3.62 FIP) in 24 innings. Really only one bad start in that string (against PHI). Even if it was smoke and mirrors in terms of stuff (haven't looked that part up), he's been a big reason for the Jays at least making things interesting. This is a big loss, with no one ready to step in.

Good grief. Bieber is made of glass.

Even when you think he's healthy he's not.

  • Finished the season fine last year - nope jk he's out half the year with an injury.
  • Threw 7 strong his last turn through the rotation - actually no he's going to the IL the day before his next start.

Story of the season.

Yeah it's a damn mess now.

  • Scherzer
  • SWR?
  • Spaghetti

That's either 3 bullpen days, or 3 s***** starters throwing, depending on how you look at it.

He'd been pitching a lot better as of late and if you squinted, you could see a rotation of Cease, Soriano, Bieber (and Yesavage?) giving us a chance to win a series if we made the playoffs.  It was all probably too good to be true though.  Often is.

Start the scapegoat thread and let the irrational and ignorant whining and complaining begin!

Bieber hurt, and Straw playing everyday in a lineup that already includes Bateman, Gimenez, and the $500M man hitting like 1992 Otis Nixon.

Bah Gawd, that's the grim reaper's music.

It's very rational to complain about the dumpster fire of Vlad Jr all season long.

Probably rational to complain about Little getting too much rope.

May be rational (a wee bit) to complain about Hoffman until he moved out of the closer role.

Yes. They literally forgot their jobs after the last 3 seasons of the staff being nearly perfectly healthy.

Little threw 3 2/3 innings when the season mattered.  They gave him a bracelet man - and he was godawful, after looking dominant in spring training...
