No point crying over spilt milk but that 7 game stretch at home vs. Houston and Texas where we lost 6 straight, including getting swept 4 straight by Texas is huge right now. Especially with three of them being by 1 run and two of them by two runs (one in extras). Just a string of very winnable games.

what if IKF had a bigger lead?

Cleveland and the twins have turned into the 2001 Seattle mariners.  Winning every regular season game.  But these teams would not be able to handle intense playoff pressure and would choke.  It will be embarrassing for the AL if we don’t get that spot.  People will think the AL sucks.  It will be all over the news.  “Weak AL teams goes down without a fight, strike looms”

Orioles and Seattle came back to win, but Texas, Houston, and detroit lost. Nance is giving us hope in san Dieago as theyve pulled ahead by 2 over the twins

Twins lose.

Now just need Cleveland to f*** off for a few games.

Cleveland worries me because of their annoying end of year run last year.

They're resurging right now too

And they have one of the easiest schedules remaining, so I'm a bit worried.

If any team in the central catches absolute fire, just like if any team in the west catches fire, they likely win the division.

Yes. What cant happen is multiple teams at the top of the West or Central catching fire at the same time. That would be the end of the Jays WC hopes.

Ideally, The White Sox win just enough to keep the Central while Cleveland and Minnesota play .500ish or worse the rest of the way.

The West? Just hope one of Houston or Texas keeps sucking and Seattle's offense stays asleep

The Guardians schedule is just as easy down the stretch as the Jays, and both teams have offenses that have an average team exit velo of like 74 mph and have to hit 4 singles an inning to score one run in almost every game. The battle of the "death by a thousand paper cuts" offenses.

Jays kinda control their own destiny at this point ( i hate that saying..)

But the majority of their remaining schedule is against teams directly still in the hunt for that last WC spot.

Cle x 3, Seattle x 3, Texas x3, Baltimore x 6 and Detroit x 3.   the only dumpster team is Ath x 3 . Reds x 3 to close out the season and while they're a 5th place team in their division, they have only 2 fewer wins than the Jays as they stand today so ... not a pushover.  The Royals are an X factor team, they've won 7 straight and the Jays get them for 2 of their next 4 series. Absolutely cannot let them be that sneaky bad team that catches you by surprise.

Basically, the entire rest of the schedule is against teams with similar records as the Jays so they need to separate themselves.
