Still waiting for you to answer the question.

Take your time. I know it's hard, I can wait.

Yo Bro!  Red Suxxx suck!!!!!  In 1995 when Mo Vaughn won the MVP I called him a fat-ass.  I don't know if he heard or not.

I try not to think of The Dark Years (1994-2014). It is a wash of awful uniforms, a lot of waffle from Gord Ash and JP Ricciardi, and listening to platitudes from Mike Wilner.

Whifflenuts is backpedaling by now repeatedly making the claim that the Sox are better than the Jays since 2000 but but no one was making that comparison to begin with nor was anyone saying the Jays are a winning franchise. We are mid as can be unfortunately.

That still doesn’t mean the Sox are the pinnacle of a winning culture. Most of their fans want John Henry to sell the team bc they don’t think he cares about winning lol.

Exactly

The reading comprehension skills of the general population are sad

No worries bro, Barger has hit 2 bombs in 2 days, he's ready to kick the door down tomorrow! 🙃😶‍🌫️

I've been told he's unproven so therefore there's zero chance he's going to help the offense.

Ah, such a disengenous take. See? I can use big words too (and don't need to use Ai).

Like I said, Barger has yet to have a full major league season as an everyday player.

When someone has done it for multiple seasons consistently, then we're talking about proven.

I'll even give you examples to help you understand.

Bo Bichette - I think he's a proven player.

Vlad - the guy a lot of you are trashing - he's proven too.

I hope Addie does well - I like him as a player, and we need him to perform.

But I am reserving judgment because I've seen players have a great start to their career and then fizzle out.

This is arguably the most meaningless debate I've ever seen on this board.

I beg to differ, it has been quite lively and the back and forth has been enjoyable.

You just don't like the outcome.

Pretty much what I said, and I didn't need to use the AI. I've been following MLB since the early 1980s and it wasn't much different back then.

It's ok folks. For the first time since the Labatt era, we have an ownership that is willing to back the front office. But these things take time and there will be setbacks. Just look at our history from 1983-1993.

You mean the John Henry who won 4 World Series, 4 pennants and 5 divisional titles?

You mean the John Henry who won 2 Premier League titles, and a Champions League at Liverpool?

Yeah, you're right, he doesn't give a flying about winning.

I can only assume that RA Whifflenuts is about 18 years old because the Red Sox were synonymous with losing for an entire CENTURY.

They traded friggin' Babe Ruth and their most famous play in team history is Bill Buckner whiffing on a ground ball.

Yeah they had a nice 12 year stretch but they are back to loserville status.

There is no winning pedigree here and the Jays should NOT be looking to model them as some sort of winning franchise. Overall, they are more known for being LOSERS and this goes for their current form.

Everyone hates their ownership and front office for being cheap and not caring enough about winning.

Read a damn book WHIFFLENUTS

Did you know that only 2 clubs in the history of baseball have won more WS than the Red Sox?

Did you know that only 2 clubs have won more AL pennants than the Red Sox?

Did you know that only 2 clubs have made more post season appearances in the AL than the Red Sox?

Now how could a team that was a failure for over a century as you say do all that?

To quote Charles Schulz: "You are a foul ball in the line drive of life."

Can I ask - have you been a member of this board before and are just using a different username now?

If not, where did you come from and how did you find us?

Are you enjoying yourself and planning to continue posting this frequently moving forward?  I'm curious as you're very active.

Why do you think I was a member before? Do I remind you of anyone?

I come from a corn field in Iowa and it was you who found me.

Are you worried that I will overtake you in posts?

I'm just curious.  Can you just answer a question like an adult?

I read about John Henry in a book called Trend Following I read about 20 years ago....  By all accounts very similar to geniuses on this board who make 7 figures with their trading.   You would think they would see a kindred spirit in John Henry???  An accomplished man, a true alpha in the intellectual way.

I would speculate that their attacks on Henry and the Red Sox are simply strategical.  Men, such as the geniuses on this message board know life is a zero sum game, and you actually have to attack the ones you admire most, as they are rivals for scarce resources, like the latest hot trading strategies and 20 something fertile females.

Who is this Connorp individual of whom you speak?

I'll assume this means you are an old member.  Too embarrassed to tell us whom though.  That checks out.

Aren't you the clever one!

Let's see...

New member comes in, posts some stuff that contradicts the Happy Clappers, the Happy Clappers get angry when they can't refute what the new member is saying, instead of engaging in a civil discussion, they call the new member various names, then Board Establishment immediately assumes he/she is an old member under a new guise.

Makes perfect sense.

Good thing I didn't use the Yankees as my comparison, they would have gone apoplectic.
