He needs to put up typical Bo numbers offensively and he should get it - .300 BA, 20-25HR's, 90-100 RBI, 130-140 wRC+, 4 WAR season. Stangstag 1

I am all but certain Bo will eventually heat up with the stick but his numbers so far are eerily similar to the awful 2024 season up to this point. He's once again his own worst enemy at the plate as he's chasing 41% of pitches out of the strike zone and until he cleans this up it's hard to see him going on a run of success.

Yeah I think when all is said and done, as long as he's healthy, the numbers will be there. Unless the Mets curse is real haha.

Those numbers are a 5+ WAR season, don't see that happening.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago The Detroit Free Press’ Evan Petzold reports that Tarik Skubal will undergo surgery to remove loose bodies in his elbow. So much for him being scratched from his start for precautionary reasons. As of now, there is no set timeline for Skubal’s absence, but Edwin Diaz is being sidelined for three months after undergoing the same surgery. That means we could expect Skubal back in August as a best-case scenario. That’s a brutal blow for the Tigers and fantasy managers, and, potentially, Skubal’s free agent market. Sawyer Gipson-Long could be called up to take his place in the starting rotation. That's not good! Spanky__99 1

If he comes back with the stuff and command fully intact after the surgery he's likely still in place for the largest pitcher contract in the sport but that's far from a given. Spanky__99 1

Definitely some team will throw money at him. As for the Tigers, this hurts them more since now you likely can't trade him for top dollar and who knows if he's back in July. Stangstag 1

They need to find a way to stay close to CLE in the standings - harder to do without Skubal every 5 days of course

Agreed, such a stubborn move. It’s going to be like the Sentors with Brady Tkachuk. It’s been obvious he’s not extending and they weren’t good enough to be all in. They could’ve been building around McGonigle and whatever pieces they got back for Skubal and still spend the 30M or whatever he’s making on a rotation piece and be just as competitive
