The A's really seem to have a knack for finding bats out of nowhere. Soon to be 29 year old career minor leaguer Carlos Cortes, with just 99 career PA (all last season) coming into the year, has been on absolute fire. He's slashing .377/.433/.689 with just four strikeouts in 67 PA, almost entirely going against righties. It will be interesting to see how he's deployed now that Rooker ( who had been struggling) is back from injury

Dude is only 5'7" too.  His Savants page will burn your retinas.

Carlos Mendoza is sweating bullets rn

Likely, but there was definitely something else at play in Boston other than just the losing (given how many were let go) and Preston was likely eager to get his dad in the manager role.

Nats are destroying the Mets, Brady House grand salami and it's now 9 - 1.

Mets stink lol. Will be funny if Bo takes the 1yr/45mil and bounces to a better team in the offseason

Bo is not going anywhere with this performance while he's set to make 2/84 the following two years lol.

Bo will heat up at the plate eventually, there's no conceivable way he's this bad over a full season if he's healthy.

It’s only a month in, we have no idea what his numbers will look like by the end, but i’d bet he puts up at least 4 WAR with something like 120 wRC+ and .280 avg with 20+ homers

Depends if he wants to stay in NY 1 more year or go get his long-term contract now. He can probably still get 200 million on the open market

He seems miserable and had to pick between two very unforgiving fanbases in NY and Philly

And of course he'll play much better than this at some point

The Cardinals are on the verge of starting the season 18-13. Just noticed that their lineup today has 8 players that they drafted (Wetherholt, Burleson, Walker, Gorman, Winn, Church, Pages, Scott) and one they signed as an international FA (Herrera). Nootbaar is on the IL and he was also drafted by the Cardinals. If they are actually a good team (remains to be seen) then would be pretty cool to see an entire homegrown lineup out there playing competitive ball all season.

Could see the Yankees being in on him if he proves he can stick at 3B. Also could take over 2B, i think Jazz is done in NY after this year

Yeah they have an intriguing young core of positional players. Walker finally breaking out and Wetherholt has been heating up. Pitching wise, they need help.

A lot of prominent posters on this message board back in the day were in love with the Cardinals front office.

Would he still want to play in New York though? Yankees fans can be tough as well. Likely will be an opening at 2B since I doubt Jazz is brought back haha.

I think he would sign somewhere where he can slide under the radar - maybe like Texas or even Southern California (with the Angels or Dodgers).

Bo will be another year older so I have a bit of a hard time seeing him receiving another $200 million contract offer. It doesn't appear as though he's been regaining any athleticism either as he's slowed on the bases even further compared to his final season as a Blue Jay.

Im almost certain he’ll get 200mil if he plays out this season without an injury.
