glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 I expect the Dodgers to win tonight, but would be pretty cool to have 4 winner take all games tomorrow. Plus I really enjoy the 6 pm start times for games, so would prefer Yankees/Red Sox be at 6 again tomorrow (if the Dodgers win then the Yankees/Red Sox game will be at 8 pm). Stangstag 1

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 Roberts so close to pulling a Boone......but he resists and Yama gets out of it

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 Does Elly ever take it another level and be truly elite?

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 Hate using starters as relievers, hope they don't do this with Yesavage
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 Roberts removed Sheehan with a 1-2 count Andujar replaces Benson and strikes out. The K is attributed to Benson. LOL Omar and Stangstag 2
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 Sasaki 101 then drops a 87mph splitter, nasty nasty stuff

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 About as well as you thought the Reds would do. Not their fault the Mets sucked. Kinda just stumbled in for having a decent September

The underlying stats dropped this year (barrel%, hard hit%, LA sweet spot%, avg exit velo), but he just finished his age 23 season. I still think there's plenty of time for him to develop into a better hitter. I think we'll see some 130-150 wRC+, 7-10 WAR seasons out of him in the future. There's just too much talent. Orgfiller 1
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 I think Elly is more in the Julio Rodriguez category because of the strikeout rate, and overall K-BB rate. Will always go through slumps and highs that cap him as more of a 6 WAR dude.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 MFW I get a 399 foot flyout to end the inning Terminator, Stangstag, Orgfiller and 3 others 6
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 NYY BOS could get spicy tonight Two younger pitchers going. Don't expect them to go deep. For New York it would be three in a row for Cruz, Bednar, and Williams (and 4 in 5 days) so I wonder if Boone will shy away from any of them, not necessarily to protect them but just because they may not be effective. Doval and Leiter are clearly not in the circle of trust but may have to pitch if Schlitter can't eat innings. Boston will probably not have Whitlock available so they may need multiple innings from some mediocre middle relief options. Prediction - Boston wins 9-7. Yankees bullpen and defense blow it. Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 Lot of pitches for Cecconi early, but the stuff looked good. I imagine the plan is hoping he gets through 1 time through the order cleanly and then pull him at the first sign of trouble during his second go around.
