Not saying in the longterm but just for this season.  Our closer is too crappy to not worry about going into the postseason while we already have good starting pitchers.

The front office likes bullpen days in the playoffs, if he sticks we'll probably need him for bulk innings. Also they're clearly worried about hurting Hoffman's feelings.

Agreed but we all see the team being up by 2 runs and Hoffman doing Hoffman things in the playoffs.

IMO Hoffman should be dropped for the playoffs. He's now at -0.3 WAR on the season. And he's been worse than this in the second half
