Here's another thing you guys are going to tar and feather me for:

Don't be surprised to see Ryan Borucki get put into the game in a BIG spot against a lefty.

Lefties are 2 for 41 (both singles) against his Slider/Sweeper on the year.

Borucki sucks against righties so they will need to be careful with pinch hitters and the 3-batter rule. But if Bellinger is up with 2 outs and runners on, Borucki very well could get the call.

Assuming he can throw strikes with those pitches first. He didnt fare well in that exact scenario against Cinci, walking that lefty and having to face 2 RHB after.

Term - you're 100% correct.  Expect to see Little and Borucki a lot this series - as scary as that is, they'll be leaned on (for better or for worse).

Unfortunately, I don't think warnings are going to impact the fickle crowd much.

Hopefully he doesn't immediately walk the guy like last time

He is death to lefties and the Stinkies have lots of them

They showed the numbers on Sportsnet the other day and it was shocking at how good IKF is against high velo (97+ mph).

He's got BA's over .300 which makes him elite and Top 5ish in baseball. Clement may be good but I don't think he is anywhere close to that.

I would like to see the numbers but I don't know how to work Statcast well enough to figure it out.

And I suppose IKF sucks at hitting everything else so if he did get in the game Shitler could just spam his breaking balls and get him out that way.

So I'm not necessarily even saying it's a good idea but don't be surprised if he draws a start tonight.

ikf vs 97+ mph in his career:

  • .302 wOBA / 13% whiff rate / 28.9% hard hit rate / 0% barrel rate

blue jays 3rd basemen as a whole vs 97+ mph in 2025:

  • .414 wOBA / 11.3% whiff rate / 41.2% hard hit rate / 5.9% barrel rate

please keep the bad man away from my hot corner

Absolutely. I don't think either fanbase should feel super confident heading into this series as the Jays are among MLB's best offenses/comeback teams, and the Yankees are playing at home in a bandbox stadium where they club a million home runs against a pitching staff that allows a ton of home runs.

Yankees have been pitching well, their starters in particular.  A few hiccups here and there with the pen but why in the hell would they not feel super confident right now? They can hit and they can pitch. Jays can hit but recently can't pitch.

The Yankees should be licking their chops at a potential sweep this weekend. We got them at a perfect time when we faced them before and after the All-Star break, they are catching us at a perfect time right now.

I swear I read a graphic that he would have been near the top of the team in hitting high velo...

I must have been bamboozled by Sportsnet's propaganda efforts to cover for Atkins' slap hitter fetish

In Keegan's story the other day, they said he'd be used as a specialist against Lefties.

As we saw the other night.

technically they aren't lying since his batting average is over .300 on 97+ mph pitches this season specifically

problem is that it's on a grand total of 17 batted balls....

Were you wearing your Yankees pyjamas when you wrote this? This seems like a lot of projecting on your part to so called "Yankees" fans.

Maybe you didn't get the memo but the Blue Jays feature an elite level offense. The Yankees have recently been facing teams that are below average offensively and the Blue Jays represent a much larger challenge to their pitching staff. The last time they faced a team with a good offense in the Red Sox they lost 3 out of 4 games in that series.

Of course you would essentially be predicting a Yankees sweep here as you legitimately think that the AL's highest winning team is terrible.

Holy crap man, you couldn’t slobber over them any harder if you tried.

Yeah, it’s a tough series. We’re slight dogs tonight and tomorrow, bigger ones on Sunday.

But the way you gush over them, you’d think we were lining up against the ’27 Yankees lol

Goldy can still spank lefties but sucks vs righties, thanks Boone.  Yankees have played Ben Rice at 1b this year too. No Volpe hurts, oh well.

Let's not forget Fisher has had a stellar split vs LHB this year:   OPS .509 in 63 PA. (27Ks in 63PA!!)

I'm really hoping he comes back in fine form this series.  We need it.
