I think the team needs to get something closer to a full strength lineup to return at the very least. I think that all of Kirk, Springer and Varsho should be back soon, with Gimenez hopefully not too far behind. The depth players have done a tremendous job in allowing this run up the standings to occur, but the constant string of B lineups with bench quality players populating the majority of the lineup was bound to run out of magic eventually.

If Varsho, Springer, Kirk and Gimenez all return as soon as expected then we probably don't need one (unless it's a clear upgrade) as some sort of combination of Loperfido, Wagner, Schneider, Straw, and Clement all get moved to the bench or optioned.

But someone with positional versatility like Willi Castro could still fit. Rosters expand in September and then in the playoffs we can run with a 5 man bench.

• Kirk back Sunday
• Gimenez rehab games early next week
• Yimi will start throwing next week but sounds like the rest of his season is up in the air

We are missing 5 regulars in the starting lineup, not many teams are able to succeed in that situation.  Put away your Atkins/Schneider pitchforks until after the season finishes lol.

Yeah Berrios against this lineup + the Jays lineup always spelled disaster. Just get swept and be done with this series/city.

With all the injuries the reality is this team isn't that good, all teams go through rough patches. If they can make some trades it will look a lot better.

Good news is they still have a pretty sizeable lead in division. Yankees are still without Judge too.

Yeah this game isn't over by any stretch but regardless of what happens we need to take the offday to reset and then get back to our winning ways against the Royals and Rockies.

We probably need to empty the farm system to be serious contenders.  Bye bye Trey, Arjun, etc.

You can't start Berrios in the playoffs and I don't really want to start Bassitt either.  Need a 1B closer and need another bat to remove Ernie from the starting lineup.  Then you need Kirk and Springer to come back at full strength and not lose a beat post conky.  

This run has been really fun.  Loved it, but we're probably pretenders at this point.
