Imagine if the Blue Jays ever came back within an 11-run inning after everything Detroit's been through lately.

They probably just canceled their season at that point.

Come on boys, a home run here puts the pressure on lol

Imagine if Green kept us in this game

imagine this scenario in a playoff game, down by 3/4 and late you need to have a shutdown reliever available to give the offense a chance

DFA Green. And hope the Yankees pick him up so he can start blowing games for them.

Either the trade deadline will kill him off or bringing up somebody like Estrada for the four games in 3 days will kill him off. Just a matter of which one and when.

Bichette's en fuego... 5-5 with a 2B. 😎

Hey Bichette haters... 🖕

I don't know if anybody hates Bichette, I just think there's a lot of debate over what he's actually worth on a long-term deal.

Adames money is the comp for me.

There's plenty of Bo haters on this forum since day 1, bruh. Where've you been?

This lost sucks.
Still don’t get why you throw in Chad Green when you’re only down 3-0 and still have 2 innings to hit. At least he probably identified the area needing improvement to the management himself !

Bo looked like an old man there, hope he agrees to move to second if we sign him.

I wouldn’t sign him as a SS going forward

If Bo is retained the club isn't forced to keep him at short stop if he eventually proves to be incapable of playing the position.

Looks like Scherzer was pretty damn good today other than that homer to Gleyber. Offense went a quiet today.

still 3/4 from the Tigers on the road is excellent given we had to face Skubal

Absolutely

We've gotten spoiled

Can't sweet every 4 game series :)

This just wasn't the game I expected them to lose but whatever

Without checking the stats, I'll bet Bo has the worst range of all starting shortstops in the MLB..

You would be incorrect. UZR and statcast have him very slightly below average, not close to being the worst. It's actually JP Crawford by a fairly significant amount.

UZR is basically obsolete at this point as Fangraphs has implemented OAA for their defensive value calculations. Bo is down near the bottom in both DRS and OAA value, however if memory serves he's been playing at even or slightly better for awhile now as the values have been holding pretty steady and/or slowly creeping up in recent months. He's turned into a very steady defender who has been making the plays that he can get to as he's largely cleaned up the errors in his game.

The comment in question was specifically about his range, which OAA does not evaluate independently.

OAA definitely has a range component. Open up Bo's baseball savant page and go to the fielding tab and you can find the range values. Bo is presently sitting a -2 runs for range presently. The chart below didn't quite paste properly as I'm still trying to determine how to reliably share these but the non highlighted -2 values denote Bo's range value.
