he was unnecessarily overused

Pitching him in the first game back from the break with a 4-0 lead was unnecessary, yes. The other times were fine, but if Schneider thinks 4 runs requires his closer, then the Jays need at least 2-3 guys in the pen that he would be comfortable using in the 9th inning because that's not sustainable.

The winds are blowing harder on Hoffman.

What ya say Spank?

1 hit, 7ks and 0 walks in his prior 3 innings pitched. But complain when he gives up a solo homerun lol.

Maybe if we had Ryan Goins in the lineup we would’ve won…

Needed some power in the 9th instead we got Vlady literally slapping the ball through the hole on the right side - with no one on

Power in general is something we need more of. Yankees got quick strikes the whole game with it.

It would be nice if Vladdy could be that guy but he's not.

Varsho will help

Santander's injury really hurt us

Losing this game really sucks, but only because we are so used to winning all the time now, and that is awesome!!! Let's just go out and win the series tomorrow and get right back on winning side of things.

Yanks got a big hit in the first inning and we thoroughly outplayed them the other 8 innings of the game but spotting them 3 runs was too much

They were bound to win one eventually, let's get the Series W tomorrow

I'm not sure we outplayed them at all - they certainly outplayed us when it counted with the Rice homer off our closer

You’re being too nitpicky. My point is that we had a rough first inning but outscored them for the remainder of the game.

Leadoff single against one of the best relievers in baseball when we are down 1 is a great way to start the inning off. Come on lol

Our offense has been pretty mediocre in the first couple of games. Three throwing errors have contributed to half of our runs.

Granted they haven't done much either, but they got the big bombs.

So your basing his whole body of work on his last three innings? All I was saying is that he can't be trusted to close playoff games thus we need at least one more late inning guy. Instead you throw a tantrum and drudge up some ten year old crap regarding Goins, lol.

Actually imo the Satandar(and Varsho to a certain extent) injury allowed the offence to morph into what it is today. I think most would prefer the current product.

Yes there was some good that came out of it, and now we have more options which is good, but we need those power options as well. It's good to be multidimensional but we're missing some of that dimension.

Especially in the postseason, it's hard to string together base runners, you need the ability to quick strike.

Varsho is Myles Straw with power. Santander's ability to switch hit with power also helps offset opposition pitching strategies.

We're better off with these guys than without them.

It's a lost season imo regarding Santander. He's weeks away from even being able to swing a bat and he won't be swinging at 100% at first. Shoulder injuries are tricky and serious so we'll see. Varsho would definitely be welcomed back as a fixture in CF but he needs to bat 7-9 and no higher.

Against the 7,8,9 hitters to boot.

It's really a shame despite how great this team has played to date, Vladdy hasn't really done much at all. We need him to be our Aaron Judge, Fernando Tatis Jr, Shohei Ohtani type of bat.

He's not living up to the expectations of someone who should be on a $500M contract. All the Jays need is the Vladdy of 2021 or the second half of last season show up, and and then this Jays team goes from a Postseason contender to a World Series contender!
