Elephant in the room. This team can’t hit home runs and once again it’s costing them. Boring baseball. It’s great if you can win 3-0, 3-1 every game. Most teams have a legitimate group of power hitters. We have Santander (not this year so far) and Vladdy (Not this year so far.) it’s depressing. 2nd worst in the league. 12 in 22 games played.

It should be a big deal now if a Jays player ever hits a home run.

It is because it rarely ever happens. Surprise and shock.

Oh My God Wow GIF

I guess all the fanboys are off enjoying Easter or to embarrassed to show themselves.

Definition of front runners whose opinions are "front office is smarter than you so everything they do is right."  Don't you see all their world series rings so obviously everything they do is great lol.

What kind of reaction are you trying to get with this post?

Wow!

I guess I shouldn't be surprised but seeing these two idiots (one of whom is named after a disgusting sex act) using the Easter holiday to levy attacks against fellow posters on the board is a new low

I guess the only good thing to come of it is that any pretense of them being actual Jays fans is now gone. The giddiness that they display after a Jays loss against the hated Mariners is something you'd see straight off of a rival message board

Given their love of all things Orioles (as noted by them rushing to the O's defense after a 24-2 drubbing), I think it's safe to treat them as such moving forward. Very nasty people whose opinions should be completely disregarded

And people wonder why we struggle to score runs lol.

Gotta move Springer up to 4th. When Varsho is back, he's probably worth trying at 5th. Gimenez is fine if he's hitting 7th but 4th is a stretch.

Look I agree he shouldn’t be hitting 4th but its literally a 2-week sample. You could probably look at half the cleanup hitters in the league and they’ve likely had similar stretches recently in their careers

Not really sure why they cut it off on April 9th because before today's 0-5 he was slashing 180/250/213 all of April, for a 39 wRC+. Nice little player, but he's still riding a 5-game heater in March to the cleanup spot.

I would trade rosters with the O's right now if I could

Take the O's lineup and keep the Jays pitching. What a team that would be!

Getting tar and feathered on Easter is unacceptable.

I accidently liked this..lol.  We could look at a bigger sample size like the last 2 years where he is xwoba was under .300.  There's zero reason for him to hit 4th.  If you're old school a guy who weighs 150lbs and hit 9 homers doesn't hit 9th.  If you're a new school guy a guy he had a xwoba less than .300 with no power the last 2 years and his  career xwoba is .303.  That's not a number 4 hitter.  The bigger question is why is Schneider our manager when Terry Francona was available in the offseason!

Reading through this thread you'd think the Jays were 5 games below .500, that's what's embarrassing. 🙄

There is no universe where Andres should be hitting cleanup. None whatsoever

Yup I agreed he shouldn’t be hitting 4th.

I was just saying that using a 2-week sample size to justify why he shouldn’t hit 4th is dumn.

We have a 2-year sample to show why he shouldn’t be hitting 4th on a competitive team.

Could Schneider be batting him fourth to make a point about the roster construction perhaps?  It’s not like team is full of great options for clean up hitters.

Schnieder is not an elite manager. Putting Barnes in and the DFAing him tells a lot. He just tends to make the wrong choices in wrong situations. Great managers have a feel for things. He doesn’t.

Are you new to the board?  You have a lot of big opinions about things you seemingly don't know a lot about.  This isn't Facebook - please don't just mindlessly complain about everything while sitting upon Mount Stupid please.  Thanks.

Maybe its time to tinker with the lineup a bit.

Would move Springer to cleanup. Prefer keeping Bo/Vladdy/Santander in the 1-2-3 spots. Once Varsho gets back, can move him into the 5th spot.

Gimenez as much as I love his glove shouldn't be hitting anywhere near the top of the order. He's a bottom order guy. Seems like the Jays have too many of those bats that fit that description.

Would be nice if Wagner and/or Roden actually started hitting with some power. Would definitely help if one of them was off to a good start offensively.
