You expect to beat the worst team in the division, but it's certainly nice to win 3 in a row. Big credit to our pitching staff, they were dominant.

Redsox are definitely not the worst in the division lol

Did you not notice who you were quoting?

Grant has the most irrational hatred for the Red Sox there is. It's borderline psychosis.

When did I say this?  I said the Jays needed to get him out of the top 4 by adding someone good enough to do so...  it was to signal that the offense needed POWER.

You Shatkins nut huggers will make up anything loll

It legitimately feels like the sole purpose for your existence is to complain.

The team has yet to win a playoff game in this era and is coming off 74 wins so yes, I will complain when there are things to complain about.  I will also cheer like hell when there are things to cheer about.

Tonight, I'm really happy with the win...

You could make an argument for Tampa I guess, but I think their superior pitching will allow them to beat out Boston for 4th.

Hopefully we can hang with the Yankees for a while and the Orioles continue their poor start.

I don't think the Orioles will finish last. But they have the kind of pitching staff that can nuke an entire season. Their current rotation has 0 good starters. Probably they win 80-something games. But would it be shocking if they win like 78?

Agree with this, but also wouldn’t be shocked if they win 95.

Orioles are extremely similar to the 2021 Jays but with less frontline-caliber starters. Which team has the better offense? Probably the 21 Jays, and that team only won 91 games.

Orioles are extremely overrated IMO. So are the Yankees. I kinda feel the Redsox are one of the best teams in the division. Jays are the darkhorse in the division you could say.

I don’t see the Rays being any good, but they seem to find a way every year.

Don't they have a lot of injuries at the moment? I thought that was the main issue right now for them.

Yeah, but that's probably not going to change this season.

- Bradish had last TJS last June, and if he's back this year it's probably like a few September starts

- Rodriguez is out with an elbow injury, was also hurt a good bit of last year, and at this point it feels like TJS is inevitable.

- Eflin will be back before too long, but lat strains can be tricky and it will probably be a few weeks.

Eflin/Kremer/Morton/Sugano/Povich is still really bad for a contending team.

Good on Schneider for knowing the obscure extra inning no DH rule that had Gimenez running instead on Hoffman. I was getting annoyed that they'd lose Hoff to a pinch runner after his 7 inning 9th not knowing the rule.

I am curious if you could choose to use the pitcher to run anyway or if it's automatic. For example lets say instead of Gimenez - Springer(Hoffman) to end the 9th it was Kirk - Springer(Hoffman), and then Hoffman throws 20 pitches in his first inning. Could the Jays choose to use Hoffman as the runner and then pinch run for him with Straw knowing Hoffman won't be back out anyway rather than be forced to use Kirk as the runner or lose Kirk for a pinch runner.

Bradish might be back sooner than that but it would give them a boost down the stretch.

Eflin isn't expected to be long-term even if it's not super quick.

Rodriguez remains to be seen. I'm not going to count him out just yet. He's probably the biggest key. If he can pitch this year it changes the complexion of things.

In terms of contending for World Series I agree it's perhaps not good enough but in terms of contending in the division with the lineup they can put out there they only need to hang around in games. If they get a bit of injury health their rotation can certainly do that.

Lmao that's crazy

Great observation. That is a crazy stat.

That was a hell of a game by Gausman. A Jack Morris dig deep and just get the f***ing win type game. All of our starters have that mentality regardless of their age.  That's a team I can root for

They are soooooowly coming around but the Orioles fanboys just can’t quite come to grips with the state of the franchise can they?  😂

Gausman's Stuff+, Location+, and of course Pitching+ so far this year are his highest of the Stuff+ era.

Interesting.

It was indeed... interesting.

You literally go out of your way to find reasons to be outraged. When the front office let a mediocre replacement level long man go this was more proof that ownership should clean house. When the team's hottest hitter didn't make a tough catch at the wall in horrible playing conditions you were outraged, and then you called him a pussy despite appearing to have hurt himself crashing into the wall. When the manager doesn't bring in a reliever on a particular day, instead of asking yourself if that reliever simply isn't available that day you instead immediately become apoplectic that the manager must be a total moron. It's just rinse and repeat repeated temper tantrums all offseason long and every single day of the regular season as well.
